Eagle Pass is a small town in Hudspeth County, Texas, United States. The population was 2,811 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. The first European to visit Eagle Pass was José Antonio de la Garza on October 18, 1799. He and his party were led by Captain Domingo Ortiz who had seen an Apache encampment near the pass while chasing down some renegades from New Mexico. De la Garza named the spot "Eagle Pass" after one of his favorite animals, a eagle. In 1835, John Caddis surveyor discovered oil shale at Eagle Pass and named it "Caddis Field". A year later, James Bowie discovered gas wells there and named them "Bowie Well No. 1" and "Bowie Well No. 2". In 1836, San Jacinto Raiders ambushed two wagon trains traveling through Eagle Pass with intention of stealing cattle but they were successful only in wounding nine people including one of their number, Major William Hutton commanding Gateway Squadron of volunteers under Colonel Sam Houston during the Battle of San Jacinto. On February 26, 1840 Eagle Pass passed from Mexican ownership to American ownership when General Antonio López de Santa Anna sold it to Jens Jakob Jensen for $5 per acre ($ ). On July 11 1870 Ulysses S Grant purchased it for $10 per acre ($ ) from Jensen's heirs subject to payment of taxes on production until 1902 (the last time these payments were made). When Texas became a state in 1912 Eagle Pass became its capital city with its own Mayor/Council position; however this title reverted back to Hudspeth County when that county lost its status as the capital city in 1921 due to budgetary cuts brought about by then Governor Charles Goode . The current Mayor/Council seat has been held by Pat McGrath since 1987 . As part of Vision Zero initiative announced by Governor Greg Abbott on December 4th 2016 EaglePass will be joining other municipalities across TX committed to making dramatic reductions in traffic fatalities within five years starting with reducing pedestrian crossings at street intersections by 50% or fewer

The rifleman would place his hand over the top and pull down on one arm until all rounds were loaded into the Magazine (this process was called cocking). Once all rounds were in place, he would then lift up both arms and release them so that they could fall back into place within the mag well. This method allowed soldiers to fire multiple rounds at once without having to worry about getting their hands dirty or having any fingers damaged from trying to pick up every round individually. As technology progressed and more efficient methods for manufacturing firearms became available, magazine design began to change as well. One such change came about in 1892 when Glock began producing handguns with double-action revolvers that used two separate cartridges instead of one large cartridge assembly like earlier models did. Eagle Pass is a small town in Hudspeth County, Texas, United States. The population was 1,868 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Amarillo-Chambersburg, TX Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first settlement in Eagle Pass was made on May 25, 1881 by John C. Hodge and his wife Mary A. Hodge when they homesteaded land east of present-day Eagle Pass Road. The name “Eagle Pass” was given to the location because of the many eagles that were seen roaming around the area during early pioneer days. The town began to grow rapidly after a post office was established in 1887 and railroad service arrived in 1888. By 1912, Eagle Pass had become a full-fledged city with its own mayor and city council members. In 1916, President Woodrow Wilson addressed a joint session of Congress at which he recommended the creation of an American Frontier Commission to study ways to improve transportation links between eastern Oklahoma and southern Texas along the Llano River valley corridor including Eagle Pass. The commission reported back in 1917 recommending that US$5 million be allocated for projects within what is now Hudspeth County that included extending railway lines southward from Amarillo through Eagle Pass as well as improving surface roads and bridges throughout the area. In 1933, eaglepass road became state highway 7 when it was extended north from Uvalde into Hudspeth County Today, there are several businesses located within downtown Eagle Pass such as Checker's Grill & Lounge which has been open since 1927; D'Angelo's Pizza which opened its doors in 1978; S&S Hardware store which opened its doors in 1984; Baja Cantina restaurant - also known as "Taco Bell" - which opened its doors on December 8th 2006; and Flowers Unlimited Store & Gourmet Grocery - also known as "Grammy's" -which has been open since 1974
Eagle Pass is a small town located in Webb County, Texas. The town was founded in 1881 by John D. Eagle and his wife, Anna Maria. The community was named for the eagle that typically roosts in the nearby Hill Country National Park. In 1911, Eagle Pass became a county seat of Webb County.
