Eagle Pass, Texas is a small town located in the Mexican state of Chihuahua. The population of Eagle Pass was 10,000 in 1930, and by 2000 it had decreased to 5,700. As one of the few remaining settlements in what is now the Mexican state of Chihuahua that still uses firearms as part of its culture and history, Eagle Pass has an extensive firearm t-shirt history. The first guns used in Eagle Pass were pistols made by Santiago de Herrera. These pistols were used for huntingotes (prairies) and other game around the area. In 1869, José María Pacheco purchased some firearms from Herrera and began making shotguns at his home in Eagle Pass. This gave rise to the beginning of rifle production in Eagle PASS. In 1912, Antonio Sánchez founded El Círculo del Arma en las Islas Malvinas (The Circle of Arms on the Malvinas), which became one of Mexico's leading arms dealers. Sánchez imported rifles from all over Europe and North America into Mexico City for distribution to government forces during World War I. His company also produced handguns, shotguns, cavalry swords and revolvers under license from American companies such as Colt Firearms Company and Remington Arms Company. In 1922 Sánchez founded el Partido Nacionalista Revolucionario Mexicano (Nationalist Revolutionary Party - PRM) with Manuel González López as its presidente; this party later changed its name to la Unión Nacional de los Trabajadores Mexicanos (United National Union - UNT). In 1932 Francisco Flores y Flores became presidente de la República Mexicana after taking office following a coup d'état led by General Agustín Castilla y Bravo against President Venustiano Carranza; he continued to hold this position until his death in 1944. Reyes Montoya became acting president following Flores' death; he served until Carranza's return to power two years later after winning a runoff election against Pancho Villagaray . Villagaray then moved into control of government affairs while Carranza remained exiled in Spain . After Villagaray's extradition from Spain in 1946 , he resumed control over government affairs but resigned due to poor health four years later . After both Villagaray and Carranza's deaths preceding their execution respectively , Felipe Calderón took over as interim president before becoming president effective December 14th 1993 when Carranca came back into power

The Eagle Pass Pistol Club was founded in 1916. The club changed its name to the Eagle Pass Rifle and Pistol Association in 1924. In 1938, the association became an NRA affiliate. The first annual rifle tournament was held in Eagle Pass on May 8, 1938. In 1949, the association became a state affiliate of the NRA. The first annual Shotgun Tournament was held in Eagle Pass on April 27, 1949.

In 1925, the Post Office was moved to its present location and renamed after General George Custer. The town has experienced many changes over its history. After being founded as a trading post, it gradually became a village before becoming an agricultural community in the 1920s. The 1950s saw growth when oil reserves were discovered in nearby Anadarko County and the town became one of the first boomtowns in western Texas. However, during the 1970s and 1980s economic decline led to some loss of jobs and social upheaval. In recent years, Eagle Pass has regained some of its former prosperity with new development including restaurants, shopping malls, and a casino.
Eagle Pass is a small town in the Fort Worth-Arlington metropolitan area, in far western Texas. The community was founded by Anglo settlers in 1859, and was named for General James H. Eagle, then commanding general of Union forces during the American Civil War. The town's heyday came during the 1920s and 1930s when it was a major center for cattle drives to market. Today, Eagle Pass is a small farmingtown with a population of around 100 people.
