Eagle Pass, Texas is a small town located in Hudspeth County, Texas. The population was 2,898 at the 2010 census. The name of the town comes from the Eagle River which flows through it. The first settler in Eagle Pass was John Hance who arrived in 1836. In 1851, Charles Goodyear established a flour mill here and later became one of the early settlers in Hudspeth County. In 1903, Josephine Holden married Fenton Withers and moved to Eagle Pass from Wichita Falls, Texas. They raised two daughters here before moving to San Angelo, TX in 1963 where they remained until their death in 1998. The first firearms law passed in Eagle Pass was an ordinance that authorized the carrying of pistols by citizens on October 19th 1872. A rifle or shotgun could only be carried with a license issued by the sheriff or his deputies. This law determined how arms would be confiscated by the government and made it difficult for outlaws to acquire firearms without facing punishment or legal proceeding

Eagle Pass is a small town in Texas that lies on the banks of the Upper Rio Grande. It was founded in 1836 by Captain James Fenton, who named it for his eagle “pass” through the hills to get to San Antonio. The community changed hands numerous times and was renamed several times before becoming Eagle Pass in 1893. The post office at Eagle Pass opened in 1895 and remained open until it closed in 1951. The townsite has been abandoned since then and is now a ghost town. The first settler to arrive in what is now Eagle Pass was Captain James Fenton, who arrived on horseback from New Mexico on March 2, 1836. He named the community after his eagle “pass” through the hills to get to San Antonio. In 1839, General Tom Beckman established himself at Fort Bliss east of Eagle Pass and started trading with Native Americans there. When hostilities began between Mexico and Texas over land claimed by both countries, Beckman abandoned Fort Bliss and moved his headquarters back upriver to Eagle Pass where he started trading goods with Mexican traders as well as American settlers. On May 8, 1840, Mexican forces attacked Beckman’s fortifications at Goliad Bridge but were driven off by US soldiers under the command of Colonel John Crainey. This event marked the beginning of Anglo-Mexican relations which would eventually lead to war between Mexico and Texas. In 1846, Captain George Armstrong came downriver from New Mexico looking for new lands to farm so he could support his wife Sarah Armstrong (née Hardesty) and their six children while her husband fought for independence against Mexico at Camargo Heights outside of El Paso TX Captain Armstrong helped found Alma National Bank adjacent to today’s Highway 281 south of town in 1850 captain Armstons house still stands today along side Alma National Bank building . There are also several buildings associated with captain Armstrong located aroundtown including:the old blacksmith shop;the hotel;the store;theArmstrong home;and most recently a restaurant known as Armstrongs Place that used to stand right next doorto the bank

Eagle Pass is a small town in Medina County, Texas, United States. The population was 1,681 at the 2010 census. Eagle Pass is part of the Amarillo-New Braunfels Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first Europeans to visit Eagle Pass were Spanish explorers in 1701 and 1702 who called it "El Paso de la Venta" (the mouth of the Rio Grande). In 1836, Eagle Pass was platted as a town by Colonel John Fetterman and named for an eagle that had been seen near the site. The name stuck and Eagle Pass became a major commercial center with its own post office from 1892 until 1907. The area around present-day EaglePass was long flat prairies which supported numerous buffalo herds until about 1800 when Native Americans began to live there and hunt deer, elk, and other game. After some initial settlers arrived from east Texas in search of land to homestead, most of what is now EaglePass developed because of silver mining activity on the nearby Gila River valley beginning in the late 19th century. A number of these miners built their homes along Clear Creek which ran through downtown EaglePass before becoming creekside parks today. Starting in 1865 various wagon trains carrying goods down the San Antonio River used Clear Creek as their route across country; this gave rise to many local nicknames such as "The Canyons". In 1897 construction began on what would become El Paso Railway Company's first line eastward from Denver crossing ranchland just south of present-day Cotulla Lake; this line provided access to much larger markets than existed west of Houston at that time so helped spur development throughout central Mexico City proper including El Paso County. In 1936 railroad company president Noland Sells donated land north of present day University Avenue for use as a shopping mall; this helped revive downtown Eaglemoss which had fallen into disrepair during Prohibition years but saw significant resurgence following enactment of state law creating Baylor University College Park less than one mile away on behalf of city students graduating from Baylor School District No 725A In recent years aerial imagery has become available revealing extensive agricultural use within miles OF current Eaglemoss while also depicting pre-historic sites such as petroglyphs located near US 6/I-10 interchange just outside town limits
