Roosevelt due to its importance as an agricultural center and its place within the Dallas-Fort Worth metropolitan area. In 1951, Eagle Pass was renamed Arlington Heights after General Robert E. Lee who fought in the American Civil War from 1865-1868 and later served as governor of Virginia from 1931-1935. The name change came about because Arlington Heights lies within Arlington County which is part of Dallas County
