He decided to settle here permanently and named the town after his Scottish ancestors who had come before him. Over time, other families followed Captain Duncan into this small community including the Armstrongs, Johnsons, Laddsons etcetera all of whom contributed their own specialties to help make this place what it is today - a thriving city with its own economy and culture! These include the story of "The White Lady" which tells about an unmarried woman who walked through downtown with her white baby carriage (actually just a dummy) during rodeo season; or even more recently "The Girl Who Kicked The Hornet's Nest" which tells the story of a young girl who fights tooth and nail against her cruel parents until she can escape them – only to find herself living amongistarians once again!
