Duncanville is a town in Victoria County, Texas, United States. The population was 1,824 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Austin–Round Rock metropolitan area. The first people to live in Duncanville were the Houstons. They came from Tennessee in 1876 and started a sawmill and gristmill on the Trinity River. The mill burned down in 1881 but they rebuilt it and operated it until 1906 when they sold it to J.C. Browning who built a cotton gin and other mills hereabouts. In 1907 Browning also bought a rancho that he named Duncanville after his father-in-law, Duncan McKenzie of Scotland who had come to Texas as an American with his family in 1849. He set about improving the land which he divided into twelve lots and laid outvillages around his new homeplace including Dungannon (now known as Cedar Park), Midland, Ector, Bruce, Old Duncanville (now known as North Lamar), San Miguel de Allende (now known as South Lamar), Starrville(later renamed Springdale), Porter Ranch(later renamed Holcombe) and Hill Country(later renamed Alamo Heights). In 1911 Duncanville was annexed by Victoriasboro which then became part of Austin; Midland by Tomball; Ector by El Paso; Bruce by San Angelo; Old Duncanville by Abilene; San Miguel de Allende by Waco; Porter Ranch by Temple University; Hill Country by Dallas/Fort Worth Air Force Base (Lubbock AFB). In 1960 Beltronics Corporation moved its corporate headquarters from Austin to Duncanville after locating there for over forty years prior thereto on 100 acres donated originally for industrial purposes only east of I-10 just north of US Highway 183 near present day US Highway 290 crossing under I-10 also called Beltronics Way or Terminal Road during those early days although beltronics never actually opened up shop there until 1984 until today’s day across Loop 610 south near EDSA now called Supercenter Greenbelt Shopping Center bearing beltronics’ original name while downtown expansion project has long been going on since that time elsewhere within city limits contiguous with supercenter greenbelt shopping center itself across Loop 610 next door to UT Southwestern Medical Center campus

Duncanville is a small town in south-central Texas, located on the banks of the Brazos River. The population was 5,827 at the 2010 census. Duncanville was named after Andrew Duncan, a settler and landowner who came to the area in 1836. The town was platted in 1857 and became a civil community in 1865. It served as an adjunct to Fort Worth until it was annexed by Dallas in 1907. In 1924, Duncanville became its own municipality and has since been consolidated with Dallas into one city. The first people to live here were Wichita Indians who hunted game near what is now downtown Duncanville. They were followed by Native Americans from New Mexico who arrived around 1785 and built their village on what is today called Old Spanish Trail Road east of town. Eventually settlers from England, Scotland, Ireland and other countries started arriving too and by 1830 there were over 100 people living in this part of Texas; most of them farmers or ranchers with some merchants also living hereabouts. By 1836, Andrew Duncan had come to this area and established himself as a landowner/settler; he donated 4,000 acres (16 km2) of land to the State of Texas for educational use under the name "Duncan Land Grant". This donation included much of present-day Duncanville as well as parts of Haskell County (now Wise County), Caldwell County (now Lubbock County), Nacogdoches County (now Cameron Parish), Jacksboro Municipality (now Jacksboro) and Slaughter Creek Municipality (now Springtown). Lutheran missionaries first arrived in central Texas between 1840-1845 aboard HMS Bounty before moving downriver towards San Antonio where they founded missions such as St Anthony Catholic Church - now Mission Park - at San Jacinto River mouth on November 6th, 1846 which soon grew into one of largest Missions ever built outside California open to all denominations including Anglo & Mexican Catholics together with Alamo Santa Fe de Zaragoza mission further south along Zaragoza River within Indian Territory controlled by Comanche Chief Hidalgo Texeira alias Doña Ana de las Brisas y Pio Pico but closed due To Apache Attacks on January 7th 1847 following settlement by Militarians led by Captain John Caddo during Yuma Rebellion against Ulysses S Grant that ultimately failed resulting in death & scalpings amongapaches rather than conversion In 1865 when Eagle Ford Railroad reached here via present day US 281 north from Houston it attracted many settlers looking for new lands westward(the railroads made possible southwestern cattle drives that brought huge herds across southern Oklahoma etc.). Many families moved Here including: Drury family who homesteaded section 8E just east of downtown Duncanville on High Street 1922; Cook family from JacksonCounty TX founded Cook’s Mill #1 about 1911; Rankin family 3 miles SW corner NW side Of LBJ Presidential Park 1915 – current home place of Rankin descendants 2016
