Duncanville, Texas is home to one of the oldest ammunition manufacturing plants in the United States. The plant opened its doors in 1892 and produced shells for the Union and Confederate armies. Ammunition production continued until 1945, when it was closed due to World War II. Since then, the plant has been used as a storage facility for various items, including agricultural products. In 1959, the plant was donated to the local community and is now used as a museum open to the public. The history of ammunition begins with handguns that were developed in Duncanville during the 1800s. Firearms manufacturers needed reliable ammunition for their devices and this led to a need for powder, bullets, shot and other components necessary for firearms manufacture. Ammunition manufacturers started producing shells in large quantities during the American Civil War due to demand from both sides of the conflict. Afterward, production stopped because cannons were not as effective using lead-based munitions as artillery pieces had been before. This left artillery commanders with requirements for new types of munitions that could be fired from horseback or carriage instead of fighting on foot or using cannons themselves. During World War I ammo production resumed thanks to advances in technology and an increase in demand from both Allied forces and German soldiers alike. It wasn’t until World War II that ammo production stopped completely due to wartime rationing programsimposed by Stalinist Russia. However, this didn’t mean that ammo production stopped entirely; many companies continued operations even under difficult conditions during those years. By 1945 Ammo Plant No 1 in Duncanville had become a derelict structure; however it reopened as a museum some years later after being renovated by volunteers! Today Ammo Plant No 1 serves as an important part of history buffs’ field trips throughout town!

Duncanville, Texas is a small town in Tarrant County, Texas. The population was 553 at the 2000 census. Duncanville is located onTX-36 and TX-171. The first settlers in what is now Duncanville were Fielding and Goudreau families who arrived in 1872. The present day village of Duncanville was platted in 1907 by Wm. Hargrave of Dallas as a subdivision of Archer City (now Arlington Heights). In 1912, the post office name was changed to Duncanville and the first school was built there on Main Street. A cotton gin and mill were built here in 1916 by J.B. Ladd & Son Limited and operated until 1932 when it was sold to the United States Department of Agriculture for use as an animal feed plant, later becoming known as LB&F Grain Mill No. 2 (later known as United Grain Inc.) After World War II, farming increased in demand for oil production due to the booming economy, so Duncanville developed into a small but prosperous community with several businesses including a grocery store, dairy, bank, doctor's office and several churches/synagogues among its residents.. In 1959, Duncanville incorporated as a city under the laws of Tarrant County; at that time it had a population of only 154 people living within limits set by city ordinance which included: five blocks north of Ellington Road extending east to US-27; two blocks south of US-27 extending west to FM 928; one block north of FM 928 extending east to IH 35W; one block east from IH 35W along SH 249 bisecting TFY land owned by Pinnacle Air Force Base

In 1915, Duncanville hosted its first rodeo. After World War II, the town grew more rapidly and by the early 1960s it had over 10,000 residents. However, during the 1970s and 1980s Duncanville experienced economic decline due to changes in the oil industry and general population growth outside of agriculture. By 1990, only about 1,500 people lived in the town limits. Today Duncanville is a small community with few businesses open until late at night because of its lack of major attractions or transportation options.
