The Earmuff Company of Dumas, Texas was founded in 1914 by Earle W. Hayden and his brother-in-law, George L. Case. The company produced earmuffs for the military, law enforcement, and other purposes. The company was known for its quality and durability. In the 1940s, the company produced a line of shooting earmuffs called the “Masterpiece” series. These earmuffs were made from durable metal and plastic material, feature comfortable straps to keep them in place, and featured an adjustable fit system to ensure a perfect fit both inside and outside of the head. From 1944 to 1958, the Earmuff Company also manufactured a line of rifle earmuffs called the “Tiger Claw” series. These earmuffs were made with strong metal frames that provided good protection against sound exposure while allowing users to hear clearly while firing their rifles. Dumas is a small town in Williamson County, Texas, United States. The population was 1,521 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Austin–Round Rock metropolitan area. Dumas was founded in 1884 by Frenchmen Pierre-Antoine Dumas and Alexandre Dumas as a railroad town on the Brazos River. The community became an important center for cotton production in the early 19th century, and its post office continued to serve until it closed in 1906. The first store opened in 1886. A school was established in 1889; it served grades one through twelve until 1959. In 1902, the Chisholm Trail Railroad running through Dumas connected with the Chicago, Texas Railway at Elmendorf Depot and began carrying passengers and freight to Dallas. In 1907, construction began on a new courthouse that would become home to both Williamson County Courthouse Square and Austin Municipal Court before being completed in 1909. The city of Austin annexed Dumars in 1917; however, due to World War I restrictions on immigration, no residents moved from Dumars until after World War II when many Japanese Americans were interned during the war. After independence from Mexico came about under Mexican rule on November 16, 1836 (the date of Ulysses S. Grant’s proclamation), Pierre-Antoine Dumas donated 3 acres (1 km2) of land near present-day junction of FM 627 and US 281 for future use as a military reservation including Fort Stockton (now San Antonio). This site became known as Fort Worth because General Sam Houston had his troops encamp there following his victory over Mexico at Buena Vista Hill on October 2nd 1837 while he was still commandant general of all Texan forces east of Amarillo Creek (present day Wichita Falls). On July 14th 1850 two families from Raton Valley Camp located three miles south of present day Muskegon Heights tried to cross White Sands Prairie into Indian Territory but soon realized their mistake when they found out that their family could not survive without cultivation so they returned back home after only sixty days successfully crossing into Indian Territory They named their son John Wesley Powell who also led this group across White Sands Prairie

Dumas, Texas is a town located in Medina County, Texas, within the Dallas-Fort Worth metropolitan area. The population was 6,678 at the 2010 census. The name of the town comes from Marie Antoinette's home of Dumas (now Denton) in central France. The first permanent settler in Dumas was James Witherspoon who arrived in 1836 and named his land "Dumas." A post office called Dumas was established in 1837, and remained in operation until it was discontinued in 1903. In 1858, Elisha Parsons founded Parsons & Company which traded cattle and flour throughout much of what is now Medina County. One of the early businesses to come to Dumas was Anna Ladd's bakery which opened its doors on Main Street on October 12th 1865. By 1870, there were more than 30 businesses operating in Dumas with a population of 1,200+. In 1902–5 Duncan Hines developed and operated an oil well near present day Dumas Boulevard and Highway 183 northwest of downtown. The well caused great excitement among local residents as it produced large quantities of oil that would be used for streetlights and other public works during World War I. When production stopped after World War I, few people knew about it; however over time some artifacts from the well have been uncovered including an old switchboard/telephone booth still standing today on Elm Street just east of Center Drive NW near Interstate 513 Spur
The Dumas Volunteer Fire Department was organized on October 13, 1892. The first fire was a small blaze in the Old Fort area. The department quickly became known for its quick response times to fires and other emergencies. In 1915, the department acquired its first truck and began using it to respond to fires across the county. The truck was later replaced by a bus in 1969. In 1979, the department purchased its first jet engine, which allowed them to respond more quickly to fires outside of town. On July 21, 1984, the Dumas Volunteer Fire Department gave away their last engine and all equipment to neighboring Humble County for use in their own firefighting efforts.
