However, without wartime production there wasn't enough money available to help rebuild DumAS after the war ended; instead, it experienced declines in both population and wealth until finally becoming defunct in 1970. In spite of its troubles during Reconstruction years, DumAS has since regained some level of popularity due to its unique historic values and architecture (e.g., Stroud Hall). Today, it remains an interesting stop on any road trip through central Texas thanks to its rich cultural heritage and wide-ranging attractions
