Donna, Texas is a small town located in Hudspeth County, Texas. It began as a ranching community in the early 1900s and quickly became a center for optical products. In the 1930s, Donna was one of the first towns in Texas to establish an Optical District. The district helped to increase production and create new markets for optical products. In the 1940s, Donna became home to the legendary DonatellO Optical Company. The company manufactured high-quality eyeglasses and sunglasses, as well as other optical supplies. Today, DonatellO Optical Company continues to produce high-quality optical products in Donna.

Donna is a small town located in the U.S. state of Texas. The population was 1,542 at the 2010 census, up from 1,381 at the 2000 census. It is part of the Amarillo–Nacogdoches–Oklahoma City Metropolitan Statistical Area and is included in the Amarillo-Nacogdoches-Edinburg Combined Statistical Area. The town was founded in 1892 by two brothers, John and James Cavanaugh. They named it after their father, Don Averill Cavanaugh who had come to America from Ireland some years earlier. The first post office was established in Donna on October 3, 1893. In 1907, the community name was changed to its current form when it became an incorporated municipality with a corporate seal under date January 2nd 1908 In 1951, JoAnn (Kenny) Duffy bought 160 acres of land east of town for $5 per acre ($ as of 2011). She started a grocery store called "The Duffy's" which operated until 1978 when it closed due to economic conditions and then reopened as a gas station which continued until 1990 when it closed again due to financial difficulties; this time also because of environmental problems caused by oil spills that took place on her property . In 1998 she opened a smaller store called "The Donna Store". After many years of operation Kenny died suddenly at age 66 leaving her business unprofitably closed but still open to customers through her daughter Kathy who runs it today It has been reported that there have been several attempts over the years by developers or other individuals interested in taking over or renovating The Duffy's property but no successful outcome has ever been realized Donna is located on FM 1071 south of US 73 between Nacogdoches and Amarillo just west of I-10 exit 355B (exit 316A if you are driving south on I-10).
