Donna, Texas is home to one of the most interesting gun sling history in the United States. The town was founded in 1879 by a group of farmers who wanted to protect their livestock from predators. It currently occupies three buildings on Main Street in Donna. The first building was erected in 1924 and contains examples of gunslinger equipment including slings, rifles and shotguns. The second building was built in 1944 and features an exhibit on the history of handguns. The third building was constructed in 1978 and contains a collection of firearms from around the world. The museum is open Tuesday through Saturday from 9am to 4pm and it is free for visitors. There are also several demonstrations each day that focus on different aspects of Gunslinging such as target shooting, bow hunting or airgunning.

Donna is a small town in the Mexican state of Tamaulipas. It is located on the Bexar River, about 20 miles south of downtown San Antonio. The population was 7,711 as of 2010. In 1865, Second Lieutenant George Armstrong bought two shotguns from José Félix García and distributed them to local farmers for use in hunting game. In 1875, the Texas Rangers began their annual roundup of outlaws and cattle rustlers in the area and discovered several pistols and rifles at a ranch near Donna. The town's first gunsmith, Manuel Gomez, fashioned some new firearms out of wood and metal to defend themselves against possible attack by raiders or other criminals. In 1896, law enforcement officials organized a posse to track down cattle rustler Juan Segovia after he forced his way into a corral with five horses worth $1,500 ransom. After capturing Segovia outside Donna while he was loading his herd onto an open wagon with hisCattle Drive outfitters behind him, one deputy shot him dead as he tried to run away empty-handed into rural Mexico. After being acquitted of murder charges during an ensuing trial that attracted national attention because of its unusual features (including live testimony from both target witnesses), Deputy Marshal Averill Harlan became known as "The Cowboy" for leading the raids that helped make Tamaulipas one of America's most lawless regions during the early 20th century.

Donna is the smallest city in Hudspeth County and its ZIP code 77501 has the lowest population density of any municipality within Texas. A large part of what makes Donna such an interesting place to live is that it has been spared many of the infamous tragedies that have stricken other U.S. towns and cities in recent years: Hurricane Katrina made landfall there on August 29, 2005; a tornado touched down near Donna on September 1, 2007; and a major earthquake occurred near the town on December 6th of that year. Donna was founded by two Germans who arrived in 1879. The community flourished until World War II when it became embroiled in the war effort as a supply stop for military men travelling through Hudspeth County. After hostilities ended, local businesses continued to prosper thanks to trade with nearby Mexico City and Dallas.Today, Donna continues to be one of the most vibrant small towns in central Texas - home to more than 2,000 residents and counting!

In 1907, John Hargrave opened his grocery store at 4100 FM 817 called “Hargrave’s” which would later become known as KFC Country Store & Grill In 1912, JB Duggan founded Duggan Petroleum Company with land that he had purchased from Waco businessmen Fenton Wiley and James McMurray Sr., both winners of $10 million worth of oil leases from Archibald Buttrey during 1906-1907Texas Oil Field Expedition After World War I, interest turned to agriculture due to low prices for oil exports following America's entry into World War I The post war boom used up much valuable acreage so starting with just 2 cents an acre per gallon available for production droughts developed over many years until high priced yields causedoria production peaked around 1973 Between 1930-1950 most wells were drilled within 3 miles (5 kilometers) or less than 1/4 mile (0.6 kilometers) off road including water well pads adjacent to lonesome streams Many farmers abandoned their fields due to lack of rainfall or other reasons; however there are still several hundred small ranches scattered through out rural areas today
Donna, Texas was founded in 1848 by Manuel Gomez and his wife, Maria. The town was named after Dona Ana, the Virgin of Mexico. Donna served as the county seat for Dallas County from 1854 to 1878. In 1888, the city of Dallas was established at the site of present-day Donna and it became an incorporated municipality in 1912.
