Gun swivels evolved out of historical needs in the early 1800s. In 1835, Desoto County was founded by cattlemen and farmers. The county was named for Josefina de la Vega, the governor of Texas at the time. To prevent Native American warriors from stealing livestock, a saddle with a small gun pivot on it was placed on each horse's back. This allowed the owner to fire both guns at once while riding. Gun swivels also became necessary during frontier raids because many men did not have firearms and had to rely on bows and arrows to defend themselves.

In 1912, Desoto became one of many towns annexed to Arlington County, Texas; its annexation marked Arlington's first official step into what would become the Lone Star State. In 1915, when World War I began, troops stationed at Fort Sam Houston were transferred to Fort Bliss near Dallas to help with training for war years ahead. As hostilities increased in Europe throughout 1916-1917, Fort Bliss became increasingly overcrowded and inadequate for wartime purposes; so much so that it was closed down permanently in 1917 and desecrated by Army officers into an ammunition depot during their occupation In 1922-1923, development along Buffalo Bayou led to growth around Desoto Creek Bridge (now known as FM 1212), which linked downtown with rural areas north and east of town In 1937-1938 local real estate developer Jens Petersen established his business empire through land purchases within walking distance of his home called Lighthouse Pointe Park; this park eventually included modern day DowntownDesOTO As Arlington County grew more prosperous during World War II due to its strategic location midway between Dallas and Los Angeles airports on Interstate 10 - becoming "The Gilded Age" - Desoto experienced rapid growth as both suburban shopping centers sprang up all around it including today's Third Street Financial District During this time period also came major changes to the social fabric of these communities with organized crime flourishing thanks in part to vaudeville entertainers like prohibitionist Bugsy Siegel having been deported from America after being found guilty of tax evasion Governor Royce Johnson declared an emergency curfew for all Texans statewide Effective November 1st 1938 until further notice due largely to nativist hysteria over Mexican migration affecting agricultural production across much of Southern California resulting in food riots that week across various American urban areas

There were also swivels that had circles on them which helped with aiming. The second type of gun swivel was called a " V-Bar" and it allowed the shooter to change the angle at which the Barrel would point when fired. This feature made it easier for shooters to hit their target. Some guns even had turrets that allowed you to rotate the barrel in order to get better accuracy from your shot. Finally, there was the " Cocker" style gun swivel which used two circles that would pivot in opposite directions in order to aim. This feature made it possible for shooters to shoot left or right side shots without having to adjustments every time they fired an arrow!

Desoto, Texas is a small town located in the US state of Texas. The population was 2,782 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Dallas–Fort Worth metropolitan area. The name Desoto comes from a Ojibwe word meaning "the place where they hunt deer." The first European to visit what is now Desoto was Captain Juan Rodríguez de Montoya on July 20, 1519 during his search for Spanish treasure in present-day Mexico City. Spanish explorer Hernando De Soto and his army reached the site on September 10,1541 and explored it before leaving for New Spain with reports of great riches hidden among the Native American nations east of Bexar County. In 1836, James Fenton organized a group of farmers who named themselves Trail and Valley Company to explore new land in what is now Tarrant County. On January 1, 1837 they founded their permanent settlement at Fort Worth on an bluff overlooking Slaughter Creek which became known as Fenton's Bluff. In 1840 the company joined forces with General Sam Houston's army under command of Hugh Lawson White to fight against Mexican forces led by Santa Anna and Ulysses S Grant during the Texan War for Independence. A post office called Desoto was established in 1857, and remained in operation until 1907. A sawmill built in 1865 by John Ladd opened up business that continued until 1978 when it was replaced by an electronic mill powered by wind turbines and ceased production that year In 1955 Jerald Capps (owner/operator) started operating a feed store here which he operated until 2014 when it closed down due to lack of customers
