On October 26th 1906 two pipelines carrying natural gas from Dome Field under surface water southward crossed into Ratonia just east of present day Desoto Township boundary line without incident or damage - marking yet another early milestone in this area’s history!

The two brothers were able to purchase an area of land about 9 miles (14 km) northeast of present-day Dallas. In 1862, desotista General Angel Arguelles invaded Texas and captured Ft Worth; this event is considered the beginning of the Mexican-American War in Texas. The Battle of Monterey ended with victory for Texan forces over Mexican elements under General Arguelles’ command; however, many Texans saw this battle as a sign that Mexico could not control Texas completely and that annexation would be inevitable. Mexican settlers began arriving in large numbers from central Mexico during this time period to establish ranchos or land holdings along the Red River Valley near what is now Arlington Heights outside Austin,Texas; these colonists were primarily farmers with some ranchers also joining them for agriculture but soon realized that they had no natural resources such as water or grazing land so they turned to mining operations which quickly brought new economic opportunities into their towns and villages across central Texas including those located around present day Dallas/Fort Worth area including Mesquite where Jose Antonio Desoto had originally settled some years earlier
