These pistols were designated “Light Service” guns because they were not intended for combat use but rather served primarily as personal security weapons or home defense weapons. After World War I ended there was renewed demand for military-grade rifles so Winchester introduced their newModel 1886 Rifle in 1927. This weapon featured an 8x42mm Objective lens which allowed shooters to shoot targets at long range without having to remove their glasses! The rifle was offered in both centerfire calibers (.30-06 Springfield Ammunition) as well as rimfire calibers such as 7mm Remington Magnum Ammunition[2]. As pistols became more popular during World War II,[3], Winchester again began offering versions chambered in such calibers as .25 ACP and 9mm Parabellum[4]. These revolvers were designated “Heavy Service” guns because they were intended for combat use – most notably being used by the USAAF when WWII began.[5] After WWII ended there was renewed demand for military-grade rifles so Winchester reintroduced their newModel 1886 Rifle once again in 1957! This weapon featured a 10x51mm objective lens which allowed shooters to shoot targets at long range without having To remove their glasses! The rifle was available only through Sears Roebuck & Co., Inc., who sold it directto consumers through sporting goods stores throughout America[6]!!!
