Bipedalism is the presence of two legs on the same level as the body. It is a common occurrence in many animals, but was first documented in humans about 120,000 years ago. The first bipedal human beings were Homo erectus, who lived in Africa about 1.7 million years ago. They walked on two pairs of long, narrow leg bones that led from their heel to their toes. Later humans started to walk upright and developed three sets of large ankle bones called metatarsals which connected the big toes to the ground. This allowed them to move more effectively on soft surfaces and help them become more agile when hunting or running. Eventually, other animals began evolving into those with four limbs, so bipedalism became less common and eventually extinct due to natural selection pressures. However, some forms of cooperative bipedalism may still exist today in some animal species such as cave bears and gorillas.

Denison, Texas is a small town located in Comanche County, Texas. The population was 1,515 at the 2000 census. Denison was founded in 1874 by the McConnell family and has been home to them since then. The town is named after James Buchanan Denison who served as U.S. Representative from Kansas between 1881 and 1889. The McConnells were among the original settlers of Comanche County and built their first house on the current site of Denison in 1874. It is said that they named their house for James Buchanan Denison because he had represented their state in Congress at that time. The McConnells continued to live in Denison until 1911 when they sold it to J P Foley Sr., a grain elevator operator. In 1917, Foley donated land to build a school which opened its doors on May 3rd, 1918. The present-day school building was completed in 1955 and serves as the town hall today. In 1952, Denison became an official city within Comanche County limits and has continuously grown since then.
