Crowley, Texas is a small town located in Crowley County, Texas on the banks of the Brazos River. It was founded in 1873 by John W. Crowley and his wife, Sarah. The first post office in Crowley was established in 1874. The population of Crowley at the 2010 census was 2,611. The town has been home to many scopes manufacturers over the years including Adler-Rochester, Bushnell, Celestron, and Orion. In 1886, Harry J. Blaisdell begins manufacturing telescopes here and this continues until about 1930 when all production ceases due to World War II shortages of materials. In 1949 Robert Quesnel begins manufacturing telescope parts here which continue until 1984 when they merge with Brown & Williamson Optics company to become Brown & Williamson Scopes Incorporated (BWS). BWS manufactures telescopes up through 2006 with some production continuing into 2009 as well under their new name Raytheon Co., Incorporated (RCI). Production resumed in 2010 but will only be for optics products from now on because of budget constraints caused by sequestration exercises within Congress called "Achievement Now" (). The history of scopes in Crowley can be traced back to where John W. Crowley settled down in 1873 after being kicked out of Texas for owning land that wasn't part of the state's limits set forth by treaty with Mexico; he named his new community after himself—Crowley Springs (now part of Midland), Kansas Territory. The original owners or Constructors erected a few log huts near what is now downtown while they await development rights granted them by the government; these were followed soon thereafter by other businesses such as groceries and general stores dotting what are now streets throughout town center including Main Street which leads eastward into downtown proper where most commercial buildings still stand today although much changed during its various incarnations over time; it's fair to say that if there ever was a “village” feel about it then Crowleys did not lack for it! It should also be noted that even though both John W.'s Creekline Drive junction west side just south off US Hwy 281 between Midland Rd./US 290 and US 287 provides access direct into town center from almost anywhere along CR 31/287 Spur4 one must make an indirect drive via FM 527/US 287 exit 4 just past CR 131/281 intersection before finally entering main Commercial streets leading eastward from there: essentially one had two choices!?!? And so Crowleys slowly evolved into its present day form largely thanks to its founder’s dedication coupled with settlers who saw potential hereabouts despite lack thereof elsewhere on TX border then Big Bend National Park—thus numerous businesses opened up right next door not just selling basic items but also becoming integral parts of local culture quite literally! An interesting tidbit worthy mention is that before WW2 uranium mining began taking place deep underground within several miles southeast cornering Midland Rd./TX 290 near present day Rosedale Cemetery archeologists discovered several ancient masonry workings dating back 8800 BC or more complete exhibiting evidence some sort OF advanced Stone Age obsidian smelting technology which indicates trade relationships existed between India and Central America long BEFORE any Spanish explorers made landfall circa 1521 AD!!?! Sooo...very cool stuff indeed!!!

Crowley is located on FM 156, about 8 miles southeast of the downtown Houston area and 10 miles northwest of Sugar Land. The history of Crowley dates back to 1836 when Daniel Boone founded what would become Crowley County. At that time it consisted only of a few land grants from the Mexican government to Englishmen who had come toTexas as traders and explorers. By 1840 there were over 100 families living in Crowley County including some who had settled from Ireland and Scotland. In 1851 General James Ketchum erected a tollgate on US-183 which became the first crossing into Texas for passengers coming eastward from Mexico City. In 1859 two men named John Witherspoon and William Fenton bought 4,000 acres (1 km2) east of present day Crowley in order to establish ranching operations with cattle that could be sold cold or heated using steam engine transportation over open range terrain. This early development along FM 156 became known as "Ranchero Row" because so much cattle was driven there during those years that trails still distinctively follow this routing today! In 1907 Riverdale Methodist Episcopal Church was built adjacent to what is now White Settlement Road just south of present day Crowley High School where many local residents attended services until they moved out during World War II when nearby Rosenberg experienced an increased population growth due to its proximity to war materiel storage sites!

On February 14, 1915, the town voted to change its name to Mesquite after Mesquite Valley near Dallas which had been hit hard by World War I shortages of munitions supplies due to American neutrality policy。 Mesquite is also where cattle drives began taking place during Cowboys & Indians days and many early settlers were cowboy entrepreneurs such as Jocko Sorenson who started up businesses such as a feed store and telephone service before they turned into farmers themselves over time
