Corpus Christi, Texas is a city in the U.S. state of Texas and the seat of Chambers County. The population was 2,695 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Dallas–Fort Worth metropolitan area and is included in the Dallas-Fort Worth Stock Exchange region. The name "Corpus Christi" comes from Spanish, meaning "the church on the cape." A year later, Castroville became one of two towns chartered by Gadsden County commissioners under Governor James Kenedy to provide a market for goods brought overland from Mexico City via New Mexico Territory during his drive to bring about annexation of all southern New Mexico into the United States after its purchase from Mexico by President Polk in 1846. In 1853, construction began on Baylor University's first building on College Avenue east of downtown; it was completed three years later and served as a college town until classes were discontinued in 1907 due to budget concerns following World War I anddescription changes made to collegiate institutions across America due to military recruiting efforts within their borders. One million people attended American collegiate football games during that time! After World War II ended with Victory Over Japan Day – also known as "Easter Sunday" because so many theaters closed down that Saturday – CorpusChristi grew rapidly with new housing being erected throughout downtown including Baptist Theological Seminary’s original Main Campus buildings between Beaux Arts Boulevard and McKinney Street southward which continue into today’s Old Town district northward (now Downtown). On July 1st 1957 major league baseball moved its spring training operations from Mesa hitter Hanley Ramirez hit four home runs off reliever Nolan Ryan as Boston Red Sox played at Minute Maid Park en route to a 7-4 victory against Houston Astros giving GM Tom Glavine his first win as manager; Driven home by Ramirez who grounded out taking second base on balls he fielded trying not too steal third base - Boston Red Sox' Pedro Martinez singled up middle scoring Ramirez making it 8-4 Boston Red Sox Game 3:Boston Red Sox 5th place finisher vsHouston Astros

Corpus Christi, Texas is a city in the U.S. state of Texas, located on the Corpus Christi River. As of the 2010 census, it had a population of 220,232. It is the second-largest city in Texas after Dallas and is also one of its most populous cities. The name "Corpus Christi" comes from Spanish missionary priests who founded the town in 1836 as an unsuccessful attempt to settle what is now Bexar County by means of a land grant from Mexico City. In 1845, businessman James Sweeny built his first cotton gin and completed construction of the first steamboat navigation on the Trinity River near present-day downtown Corpus Christi. By 1870, over 1 million people lived in downtown Corpus Christi with itsentsities stretching along both banks of the river. The Port Arthur Shipbuilding Company was founded in 1898 by Samuel Inskeep and JB Poeppel as a way to build larger vessels quickly using local shipyards rather than having to order abroad. Inskeep became president and Poeppel vice president while their employees formed three committees—one to design ships, one to build them, and one to operate them—to approve each project before it went into production. The company went public in 1902 and continued until 1907 when it merged with two other shipbuilders (John Litton & Sons and Pogue Electric Boat Works) to form Lines Corporation which then sold its interests back to Inskeep & Poeppel for $1 million dollars (equivalent at $32 million today). Lines Corporation became involved in many major projects during this time including several yards that were turned into world-renowned ports such as Bolivar Naval Base on San Antonio Bay (now part of Brownsville), Harlingen Naval Station on Houston Bayou near Mission Bayou, Ennis Hook Light House offshore off Louisiana State University's campus at Ennis Hook point opposite Galveston Island, Navarro Beach Light House just off Interstate 10 between Fredericksburg and Kingsville...In 1916 Lines Corporation was acquired by John Dennison & Son who renamed themselves American Iron Works Incorporated (AISC). AISC constructed more than 500 ships including 59 warships during World War I alone; however due outside pressure during peacetime AISC discontinued heavy manufacturing operations in 1921 because it could not compete with foreign competitors such as German Schiffswerke AG which had greater resources at their disposal American Iron Works was reorganized under United States Steel Corporation ownership following World War II as American Shipbuilding Co., Incorporated but reverted back to AISC name never used again thereafter
