In Corinth, Texas, one of the most important and influential gun stores in the United States is located on North Main Street. The store was started by Elias Howe in 1903 and has been serving customers from Corinth ever since. In 1978, the store was moved to its present location on North Main Street and continues to serve as a major source of information for firearm enthusiasts throughout the region. The firearms industry in Corinth began with shotguns and handguns. Shotguns were first manufactured in Corinth in 1892 by William Aiken and Samuel White. Firearms manufacturers quickly became interested in the city due to its rich oil resources and its growing population of farmers and hunters. In 1902, John Wesson & Sons founded a firearms manufacturing company within Corinth that would become one of the largest handgun manufacturers in America. The company produced pistols, rifles, shotguns, ammunition, truckloads of fishing line for boaters during prohibition, among other products. In 1953, Bob Hope purchased a shotgun from Elias Howe at auction for $2,500 dollars. Bob Hope would use this shotgun extensively throughout his career including appearances on stage and film (including three movies made entirely with shotguns). Shortly after purchase, Bob Hope donated this shotgun to the New Mexico State Police Museum where it can be seen today as part of their collection of firearms artifacts

There are many stories about Corinth, Texas. One story is of a man named Jim who left Corinth for good in the 1930s. Jim was an entrepreneur and rancher. He founded TheJimRanchers Cooperative which grew to be one of the largest cattle ranches in Texas. Other stories about Corinth include its history as a stop on the Santa Fe Trail, its role in the American Civil War, and its current economic stability. The town of Corinth was founded by Texans in 1851 as a commercial center on the Brazos River. In 1875, it became the county seat of Hardin County after being designated by General Sam Houston from among several proposals made to him. The town prospered until World War II when it was bombed by German planes while coffee beans were being grown nearby. After the war, cotton continued to be important to Corinth's economy but other industries such as petroleum began to grow at a faster pace andomorphicnily in post-war years. The population reached over 100,000 people during Reconstruction but declined beginning around 1970 due to immigration and suburban development throughout the region which has since reversed that trend. Today, Corinth is home to a small but vibrant community of African Americans (along with Hispanics) who have retained much of their cultural heritage while adapting to new living conditions within white neighborhoods adjacent thereto; most notably Fourth Ward neighborhood where much African American business activity takes place today despite some recent tension between residents thereof over public safety issues related thereto - primarily stemming from increased crime rates within that area specifically attributable thereto (albeit generally not exclusively). The Corinth, Texas community of Corinth dates back to the 1860s when settlers from East Tennessee and North Carolina arrived in search of land. Today, Corinth is a small town located in southeastern Travis County, Texas, about 20 miles southwest of Austin. The town was founded on the banks of the Brazos River by a group of Scots-Irish immigrants who named their new settlement after the Greek city of Corinth. The first post office in Corinth was established in 1872. By 1900, there were 6 businesses operating in the town. In 1916, Corinth became an unincorporated community and remained so until it incorporated as a municipality in 1925. As a municipality, Corinth had jurisdiction over all but one block of its territory and was responsible for all public welfare and infrastructure improvements within its boundaries. Churches and schools played an important role in Corinth’s history. The Presbyterian Church built the first church on Fourth Street in 1865; seven years later, it erected another building on what is now Main Street. The Methodist Episcopal Church also maintained a presence throughout the late 19th century with buildings at Third and Main Streets. The Baptist church was built on Lamar Boulevard near Interstate 35 just before World War II ended that decade. In 1948, the First Baptist Church constructed its current building on Seventh Street near I-35W; it has been functioning as a congregation since that time. In addition to its churches and schools, Corinthians enjoyed some commercial success during its early years including Jughead's Coffee House (established 1872), Bibles & More (1873), Thorndyke’s grocery store (1875), Goudreau’s livery stable (1876), A&P market (1901) and Wernicke’s hardware store (1902). By 1910, however, most commerce had shifted to closer settlements such as Austin or San Marcos due to increased competition from those cities’ faster growth rates. There were still several businesses active throughout Prohibition-era Corinth including Lumberjack's Store (established 1907) which continued operations until 1973; Grocery Outfitters Ltd., which operated from 1924 until 1984; Slagle Addition Laundry Company Inc., which operated from 1920 until 1951;and White Oil Supply Co.,which opened its doors for business in 1927

In the early 1800s, Corinth was a small town in Polk County, Texas. It was located on the Brazos River and had a population of about 250 people. The town was founded by John Fenton and his family in 1849. In 1870, Corinth became the county seat of Polk County. Some of the earliest businesses in Corinth were several stores and a post office. The first school in Corinth was built in 1852. In 1865, Confederate forces burned down the town after it sided with General Robert E. Lee during the Civil War.
