Coppell, Texas is home to one of the most important gun hammer history in the United States. The Coppell Gun Hammer Museum, Inc. was founded in 1986 by a group of citizens who wanted to document and preserve this unique relic from the old west. The Coppell Gun Hammer Museum has been collecting and exhibiting firearms since 1987. Today, they have over 60 firearms on display including handguns, shotguns, rifles and cannons. The museum also has an exhibit hall with more than 20 exhibits on various aspects of gun hammer history. Admission is free for all visitors!

The Coppell Gun Hammer Company was started in 1892 by 3 men, John P. Coppell and J.D. Hoglund, and their wife Anna. The company made guns and other gun parts. In 1912, the company moved to its current location on Loop 336 in Coppell with a new factory building that still stands today. The Hoglunds ran the business until they died in 1966. They were followed by their son John P. Jr., who continued the family business until he passed away in 1978.
Coppell is a city in Coppell County, Texas, United States. The population was 7,848 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Dallas–Fort Worth area. The site of present-day Coppell was first settled by people in 1839. George A. Cupples drove cattle to market from here in 1845 and named the place after his brother-in-law, James Bledsoe Cupples. The name change to Coppell on December 5, 1850 when JB Cupples donated land to the town for a school and courthouse. In 1871, it became an incorporated municipality with a mayor and three council members elected at large rather than partisan fractions like those used today. In 1958, residents of southeastern Dallas voted to annex what was then known as the “San Antonio/Commerce” section of Coppell into their city limits; this annexation created a new political subdivision which included much of northeastern Dallas as well as much of Fort Worth County (later Tarrant County). This new government would eventually be renamedDallas–Fort Worth Metroplex after its creation in 1995 when metropolitan areas were reclassified by Congress under the National Planning Standards Act (NPSA). Today’s downtown district occupies much of what once was eastern Commerce Street between Elm and Garland Streets; this area has been called home since coppersmiths started setting up shop there about 1830. Streets that run through downtown today were laid out as part of that original street plan: Elm Street ran east-west through centerville before becoming concurrent with Main Street north to south just beyond Park Row; Garland Street ran northeast-southwest from its current alignment just past Farmers Branch before joining Elm again just beyond I-635 frontage road near Lake Meredith Parkway; Commerce Avenue became concurrent with Main near its current intersection with Grapevine Boulevard shortly thereafter before turning northwest towards Cedar Hill Road (now Uptown Drive) just inside Loop 610 loop encircling Dallas proper outside Beltway 10 exit 4D/I-636 entrance 8E/ exits 6L/I-635 interchange
Gun hammer was a tool used to pry open locks and other devices. It consisted of a metal handle with an iron or steel head, which was attached to a piece of wood or metal work by means of a coupling. The hammer was applied Violence to the object being pried open, in order to create enough force to pry it free. Hammering often caused fractures in the object being pried open, as well as chips out of the wood or metal work itself.

This gave new life to the town and made it easier for people to get around town; however, it also caused some problems for locals who did not have access to transportation ora business space on the railroads. These days many people celebrateCoppells rich history by visiting various sites within his boundaries; such as downtown which features several buildings dating back to before 1900 including Banks Building (1899), State Capitol Building (1901), Masonic Temple (1902), First Baptist Church (1894) etc., Midtown which hosts annual events like Artfest or texas open air carnival etc., Old Courthouse which is home to various shops/ boutiques/ restaurants etc., original post office building which still stands today housing different businesses including restaurant/cafeteria/liquor store etc., as well as movie theater located across from high school that has been used by both TX High School football team & other professional sports teams over the years
The first white people in Coppell came overland from Texas in 1836. They named their new town after General Sam Houston, who had fought in the Mexican-American War. The town rapid growth led to its incorporation as a city in 1908. In 1938, Coppell became a state capital and has since grown into one of the largest cities in Texas.
