Bowen developed a holster system that allowed people to carry their firearms in CONVERSE COUNTY without fear of being robbed or having them stolen. The method Bowen invented would be used for years by Texans until it was replaced by more modern methods in the 1970s. Converse's holster system helped make cowboy culture well-known throughout Texas and even reached as far as Oklahoma City! In addition, Bowen's design has been credited with helping increase gun ownership rates in America overall and making it easier for citizens to carry their firearms without fear of being robbed or attacked.

Converse is a town in Llano County, Texas, United States. The population was 6,314 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Dallas-Fort Worth metropolitan area. The first post office in Converse opened on October 15, 1872. The community name derived from "Conversation Creek" located near the original village site. In 1901, the Clarke-Ferguson families donated land to form Converse Village and it became a consolidated municipality on November 1 of that year. In 1961, Converse voters approved an ordinance establishing a school district with 54 classrooms and a gymnasium for use by all school districts within Llano County. On December 12 of that year, the first students entered Highland High School in Converse after six years of construction and dedication. During World War II both the Japanese and American air forces bombed Japanese targets in and around Converse; many homes were destroyed or damaged as result. Many residents lost their lives as they worked to help support their families during this time period; one resident died when his home collapsed due to explosives detonating inside while he was working in it. On July 8, 1953, President Dwight D Eisenhower signed Executive Order 9097 which ordered all public schools be closed for five days so military personnel could be discharged from campgrounds across America. This order had the unintended consequence of causing many students who would otherwise have gone to school to instead go hungry since most stores were closed as well (the only store open was at First National Bank). After effecting an emergency food distribution program that lasted into Wednesday night local officials announced plans to reopen on Friday morning because there would be enough food available for everyone within two days! Since then much has changed including: A new high school built west of town on land donated by Laughlin Chevrolet; The opening of Interstate 20 which bypassed town making things more convenient for drivers; More than 50 businesses now open along I-20 including several restaurants/bars housed within buildings older than those currently standing; A light industrial park east of town housing numerous factories now long gone but leaving behind Rust Belt architecture including warehouses dating back over 100 years Today's economy is based largely upon agriculture with some manufacturing taking place such as fabricated metal products consigned by China throughout eastern Texas while oil exploration continues offshore
Converse, Texas was founded by Manuel Converse in 1827. The town was named for his father, who also named the town after himself. Converse built a trading post and store in this location and became the first person to settle in what is now Converse County. In 1831, he married Anna Maria Richardson. The couple had two children and operated a small farm until Anna Maria's death in 1865. After her death, Manuel continued to run the farm until his death in 1889.
