At this point, Cedar Park became part of Texas and Kountz received a Congressional pardon for his role in battle. In 1915, Cedar Park became home to Arlington Air Force Base when it opened as a station on Concorde Airlines’ international flight schedule between Dallas/Fort Worth Airport and London Heathrow Airport. The base continued to serve as an airbase until 1999 when it was closed due to budget cuts by then-President Bill Clinton following Operation Desert Storm (1991-1992). During World War II, Cedar Park served as an important training ground for Army units fighting in Europe before being turned over to the Navy on 01 Dec 1945 . On 23 Jun 1951 local resident Earl Fenton organized a civic meeting at which he proposed annexing Unincorporated Area #1 (later known as Springtown) from Springtown Township because he felt that Springstown had not done enough for its citizens during the war years after annexation efforts had failed . However annexation did not occur until 15 Dec 1961 when portions of Springtown were annexed into Cedar Park according to ordinance passed by voters there that same day; however water rights were still unresolved at that time

The Caldwells were instrumental in creating Cedar Park as an agricultural center and founded the local cotton gin and stockyards. They also built a school and chapel in the town square. In 1916, they donated land to build the current Cedar Park airport, which has since been renamedCorpus Christi International Airport after them. In 1948, the City of Corpus Christi annexed Cedar Park; this annexation created a merged municipality with a population of over 100,000 people today. The city's economy is based on agriculture and energy production; some of its major employers are Dow Chemical Company (which operates three refineries), Arkema Energy Partners LP (a refinery operator),and Schlumberger Limited (the world's largest oilfield services company).
