In 1978, Gulfoil Corporation acquired Latham & Waddell Industries for $4 billion USD making it one of the largest energy companies in history with over 100 subsidiaries worldwide including 15 production plants across eight countries including Mexico and Venezuela It closed its last production plant on December 31st 2009 . On July 1st 2009 all assets were sold to Nextec Resources plc . At its height there were more than 4200 employees employed at some 265 Processing Plants across 45 Countries

In addition, many small businesses thrived within the limits of what could be achieved by traditional methods like planting seeds deep into sandy soil (a practice known as “dire” gardening). By 1930, Cedar park had reached its peak population size with over 4,000 residents; however, due to immigration restrictions placed on American citizens at that time, this number decreased steadily until well into World War II when it finally stabilized at around 1,500 people. During World War II%, Cedar Park played an important role in providing materiel support for Allied troops fighting overseas; accordingly, much of the architecture associated with this period was built out of local brick or wood framework . Many stores and buildings remain standing today including: Post Office Building (1930), Masonic Temple (1884), baseball diamond (1934), Presbyterian Church (1889) – all now listed on national Register of Historic Places! many are also protected under state Historic Preservation laws
