Cedar Hill, Texas is a small town located in the northwestern corner of Texas. The population was 1,549 at the 2010 census. It has a history dating back to 1881. During that time, Cedar Hill was a stop on the Butterfield Overland Mail route. The mail service transported goods and passengers overland from Missouri to San Antonio and Austin. The first settlers in Cedar Hill were farmers who arrived in 1881. They operated their farms throughout the early years of the 20th century. However, during World War II, Cedar Hill became an important military base because it was home to Air Force Station Cedar Hill which served as the main staging area for American forces during World War II. As a result, many businesses and residents moved to nearby Arlington Heights during this time period. In 1990, Cedar Hill voters passed a referendum making it an incorporated town with its own government and Mayor-Council form of government instead of being governed by Arlington Heights officials. At that time, there were only 350 residents living in Cedar Hills while 1,557 people lived in Arlington Heights proper which included all of its annexed areas including what is now known as South Arlington Heights (the portion north of I-10 that is now part of Dallas). Since then, much has changed within both communities; most notably Hurricane Katrina made landfall on August 29th 2005 and caused significant damage to both towns due to flooding incidents that occurred within weeks after the storm hit land - causing extensive loss of life among those who perished in various ways such as rooftops or cars submerged beneath water tables entire neighborhoods were lost including much of downtown Cedar Hills - however some portion still stands today despite difficult restoration work old infrastructure remains largely unrepaired Additionally following Katrina these streets re-opened becoming pedestrian friendly with limited access vehicular traffic once again rule throughout inner city areas around post office plaza until recently also construction ongoing along 6TH St & Elmhurst Rd just east side heavily wooded area potential site for large new shopping center if approved

The demographics of Cedar Hill have changed over time; while most residents are descendants of those who migrated to this area during its early days, more recent arrivals include people from Mexico and other parts of Latin America. Although many residents still speak English as their primary language, there is also significant Spanish spoken here among some longtime residents as well as Mexican Americans who have immigrated since 1950s when California legalized bilingual education for children age 6 through 12 years old."

In 1978, Cedar Hill voters passed a referendum authorizing annexation into the city of Wichita Falls; this event marked the first time that an unincorporated community within Wichita Falls had voted to become part of a larger city. In 2002-2003, plans were made to turn Cedar Hill into a high-rise development known as "The Hills"; however these plans ultimately failed due to opposition from local residents who felt that their own neighborhoods would be lost if the development took place at their current location. Today, few people live in Cedar Hill – most residents are concentrated around the small schools and churches located within its boundaries. However, there are still many active businesses and civic organizations operating within the community – including an annual parade celebrating patriotic values held on Memorial Day weekend!
