Cedar Hill is a small town in Tarrant County, Texas, United States. The population was 1,818 at the 2000 census. It is part of the Fort Worth-Arlington-Piney Woods Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first settler in Cedar Hill was John L. Dickinson in 1853. The town was named after Cedar Creek which ran through it. Cedar Hill was founded on November 6, 1881 by James Denton and his wife Margaret Hodge Denton. They were pioneers in what would become Tarrant County. In 1902, the Ladd family bought land adjacent to Cedar Hill from the Dennetts and laid out a townsite for themselves on July 24, 1903. The name of the town changed to CedarHill on October 10 of that year following ratification by the village trustees and vote of residents of both villages combined (the two towns had been separate since their incorporation). In 1915, due to World War I shortages of lumber and other resources in Texas, many businesses closed their doors during wartime as a result of a peacetime economy that was still struggling following years of war production cuts. However some reopened such as The State Theatre which reopened with new management in 1917 and continued operations until 1951 when it burned down; this fire caused $5 million worth of damage to buildings within walking distance of its original site In 1962 local resident Jerry Craddock started construction on what would become Interstate 610 between Fort Worth and Arlington outside present day Cedar Hill limits; this addition increased traffic around town which made commuting more challenging for many residents who now lived close by while also putting additional strain on available infrastructure resources As interstate travel increased so did commuter car ownership leading to an increase number of people who worked from home instead . unexpectedly increased crime rates within town limits partly attributed to these trends however despite persistent problems with crime there have never been any reports or prosecutions resulting from crimes committed within town limits

Cedar Hill is a small town in Cameron County, Texas, located about 25 miles (40 km) east of Austin and 10 miles (16 km) west of Fort Worth. Cedar Hill was founded in 1876 by Scots-Irish immigrants as a small community on the edge of the cattle country around Cedar Creek. The name comes from the cedar trees that grew wild in the area. The first post office was established in 1879, and by 1900, Cedar Hill had a population of just over 100 people. The early years were difficult for Cedar Hill because it was at the mercy of cattle ownership and rustling. In 1885, however, a group of farmers formed the Cedar Valley Cattlemen's Association to improve relations between themselves and their neighbors. This group helped to build up trade with other nearby towns and soon enough, Cedar Hill became self-sufficient. In 1912, local businessmen formed what would become known as the "CedarHill Club" to promote Hunt Racing events at various local courses. This club later became known as "The American Racers". During World War I, Cedar Hill played an important role in supplying food for military camps near Austin through its connections with Camp Bowie near present-day Waco and Camp Dutton nearpresent day Odessa. In 1948–49, when Texas faced financial crisis due to oil production slump nationally and hard times within itself, many small towns across Texas went into bankruptcy during the Great Depression era. However, despite being struggling financiallyhammering against odds from family farming values that included thriftiness rather than greed or extravaganceism; Cedar Hill managed to stay afloat until 1957 when it closed its doors for good after sixty years of existence as a pioneer community in Central Texas
