Cedar Hill, Texas is home to the oldest continuously operating ammunition manufacturing plant in the United States and one of the most significant sites in American ammo history. The company was founded in 1876 by George Ball, a manufacturer of artillery rounds and projectiles for use with rifles and shotguns. Ball's factory produced muzzleloaders, rifle cartridges, shotgun shells, black powder rounds, and other munitions until it closed in 1957. The production of firearms ammunition has been a part of Cedar Hill since at least 1876. In that year, George Ball started making rounds for use with cannons on land confiscated from Mexican rebels during the Texan-Mexican War. Ammunition made at this early site included ball shot (a type of Metallic Cartridge) as well as mercuric acid or whale oil roundshot. In 1898, Ball's son-in-law Sam Houston bought the company from his father-in-law John Cockerill and changed its name toHouston Arsenal Company Incorporated (HAC). This new incarnation continued producing munitions including cannonball shot (mercuric acid rounds), rifle bullets (6-, 12-, 16-, 20-, 24-, 30 caliber), shotgun cartridges (12 gauge shell also called "pumpkinseed"), black powder rounds (low explosive type used for anti-aircraft fire), grenades and mortar bombs. During World War II HAC produced more than 1 million pounds of munitions per day for military users in 45 states across America. Ammo made at this time included incendiary grenade types such as M1917E4 ("handgrenade" style projectile created by filling an old hand grenade with high explosives), TNT charges for demolition work, machineguns roundelipped with case Finlandia Factory No 957/1 Savage Model 1911 chambered in 7 mm Mauser & Karabach; submachine guns chambered in 9mm Parabellum & Thompson; short barreled shotguns chambered in 12 gauge Remington pump action; armored personnel carriers such as Stryker vehicles protected by armor piercing bulletproof plates fitted with 40mm breech blocks etc.; naval gunfire support items like Type 95 torpedoes fired from battleships through their torpedo tubes

In 1903 Julius Schreiber patented his own design for Armour Piercing Rounds which became widely accepted as the standard for cartridge firearm ammunition beginning in World War I

Cedar Hill is a small town located in Hidalgo County, Texas. The population was 1,032 as of the 2010 census. Cedar Hill was founded in 1868 by settlers from Illinois and Missouri. The town became a ghost town when the rails were withdrawn from the area in 1887. Cedar Hill has since reopened and its population has grown to over 1,100 residents. The earliest settlers to Cedar Hill were those who arrived from Illinois and Missouri. They built their homes near the present-day intersection of Utopia Road and Willow Creek Drive. In 1868, they made the decision to settle in this location because it offered them good grazing land and access to water sources. Even though they had no money, these settlers spirit pushed forward and started a businesses that would help them survive: a blacksmith shop, a store, an Agricultural Emporium (a commercial center where farmers could buy goods such as flour and other farm supplies), a schoolhouse, and eventually their own cemetery. Over time, other families also decided to move into Cedar Hill. By 1890, there were already over 100 residents living hereabouts. One reason for this growth was undoubtedly the arrival of new transportation methods: railroads came through the area soon after being built; this allowed people more opportunities for business than ever before! Additionally, CedarHill experienced some significant development during its early years: construction began on what is now known as Parkview Memorial Hospital in 1875; this hospital would become one of Hidalgo County’s leading providers of medical care until it closed in 1971; furthermore, brick fame began arriving to Cedar Hill when granite quarriers began working hereinlayed bricks for north Texas schools starting in 1901 CedarHill has always been quite active within its community – it even staged its first festival back in 1905! This annual event consisted of local artisans showcasing their work at various venues across town while shoppers enjoyed refreshments! Despite all these positives however – including some very beautiful architecture landmarks like Parkview Memorial Hospital – nothing lasts forever… eventually decay sets into place and all original structures are lost to time & neglect Interestingly enough though – despite all these challenges posed by eras gone by – both locals & outsiders have often remarked on how much life remains “alive” within this small community today . It truly is an example of resilience which continues unabated even if many things have changed around it over time Today’s residents continue to contribute importantly unto their community both through volunteeringism & social media engagement .
