This event started what would become known as hydraulic fracturing ( Hydraulic fracturing) Drilling techniques were developed during the 1990’s after deregulation of oil prices which allowed companies like Shell etc.,to extract huge quantities of gas from shale formations throughout America On November 1st 1905 when James Akeroyd died at age 102 years old he was buried at Greenwood Cemetery near his home town of Commerce City , Colorado along side such pioneers as Kit Carson Burleson experienced significant growth due to World War II with examples such as: An American Air Force Base being built here; an ammunition plant being built; numerous munitions plants being established throughout Bexar County; Proctor Shipyards beginning production methods for naval mines early during World War II; various manufacturing plants starting up including Boeing Aircraft Plant ( later moved elsewhere ); hospitals such as Baylor Hospital began construction including Stritch Memorial Hospital located just northwest of downtown ; many stores opened up including J C Penney’s original location across Main Street between First Avenue North and Lamar Boulevard ; automobiles began becoming popular here with Ford starting making their cars here beginning in 1928 Today there are more than 100 businesses active within the city limits alone many dating back over 100 years
