Burleson, Texas is a city in Richardson County, Texas, United States. The population was 9,719 at the 2010 census. It is the principal city of the Burleson Micropolitan Statistical Area, which has a population of 18,912. The first European to visit what is now Burleson was José Vasquez de Corón on October 16, 1795. He named it San Félix and discovered an area that would become known as the Sanchez Rancho. The site for present-day Burleson was selected by General Sam Houston because it seemed like a good place to build his new military post at Sam Houston Park. A post office called "Burbisona" was established in 1802 and remained in operation until 1907. The first store built in what is now Burleson occurred in 1835 when John Sibley opened a store on Main Street between Lamar Boulevard and Farm Road 614. By 1840 there were two stores open and nine residents living in town. During the remainder of the 19th century several businesses operated around town including blacksmiths (1851), saddlers (1857), tailors (1859), harnessmakers (1860), printers (1865), coal merchants (1866) and livery stable owners (1868). In 1899 burleyan cattle were so popular that George Waco started branding them himself - Waco Cattle Company became one of America's most successful livestock operations during this time frame In 1909 City Councilman James Hickey sponsored legislation giving city limits to Richardson County making Burleson an incorporated municipality with its own government In 1912 Drury Brothers installed electric lights within town limits after seeing this as an opportunity to bring more economic development into town In 1914 Mrs Josephine Hildebrandt donated land for a high school but construction didn't begin until 1924 when classes began In 1927 First National Bank moved from Burr Ridge to downtown Burleson becoming one of America's largest banks During World War II many businesses closed due to shortages caused by patriotism or needed war production Burlington Oilers Hockey Team played their home games at State Fair Grounds before moving into Municipal Stadium which they shared with Richardson County High School until 1959 when they finally built their own stadium

Burleson, Texas is a small town located in the Mexican state of Tamaulipas. The first European to settle in what is now Burleson was Manuel Gomez who arrived in 1836. As of the 2010 census, the population of Burleson was 1,564. The area that is now Burleson was originally part of the Apache County seat of Apache Town. In 1846, after Mexican independence from Spain was proclaimed, Apache County became part of Texas and Apache Town became part of Fort Worth. The name 'Burleson' came about because General Antonio López de Santa Anna's army passed through on their way from Nacogdoches to Matamoros on October 25th, 1846 and stopped at the rancho called 'Buresón'. There they built a rain fort to hold back Indian attack. In 1881, John Wesley Hardin donated land for a public school in what is today Burleson. The first Methodist church was organized here in 1889 by Rev. A W Lester with help from Dr J H Woodruff and Rev W K Dixon. In 1916-17 Methodist Episcopal Bishop James G Marshall built a new church here that still stands today as Fort Worth’s second largest structure after City Hall (now known as Richard M Lee Boulevard). Reverend Charles Eckhart led an unsuccessful attempt to move the cornerstone from its original location on 15th Street into the old post office building later designated First Baptist Church until his death in 1942 which allowed it to remain at its current location where it remains today - one of several historical landmarks withinFort Worth associated with Reformed Christianity including First Baptist Church (1896), Alamo Missionary Baptist Church (1901), Presbyterian Cathedral (1905), and Dallas Bible Institute (1963). The town itself grew slowly until World War II when large numbers of Americans moved into southwestern Mexico due to economic opportunities created by America's entry into World War II. With war coming home, many businesses closed down and people were forced out; this lead to increased development around Highway 6 which soon became known as 'the Strip'. By 1960 there were over 4500 residents living in what is now downtown Burleson with only 50 housing units remaining developed during that time frame! It wasn't until 1993 when city officials decided it would be more advantageous for them if they began developing those housing units so DowntownBurleson would become more populated and mired economically within itself rather then striving towards external influence like much older areas such as Southside Village or Midtown Center which have seen continuous gentrification since their heyday during the 1970s-1980s
