AOC was founded in 1913 by Clarence Evers and John Latham under the name American Outfitters Sporting Goods Company (ASPC). ASPC manufactured handguns, rifles, shotguns, ammunition, clothing and other items under various names until it merge with Brownells in 1972. At that time, brownells became known as simply “TheBrownells” within AOC’s corporate family tree parked right next to its famous pistols like 1911 Colt Para Ordnance pistol model 619 triggers etc., which you can still purchase today!

In 1901, Burkburnett was founded as a small town in San Antonio County by DutchAmericans. The town grew rapidly and by 1920 had a population of over 1,500. In 1951, the United States Supreme Court ruled in Brown v. Board of Education that public schools must provide transportation to minority students in local black neighborhoods. As a result, Burkburnett began to suburbanize and its population declined from around 2,000 in 1960 to just over 1,000 today.
Burkburnett is a small town located in Wise County, Texas, United States. The population was 1,757 at the 2000 census. Burkburnett is part of the Wichita Falls, TX Metropolitan Statistical Area. The Burkburnett post office opened in 1881 and closed in 1944. It was reopened in 1945 and has remained open ever since. The first settler in what is now Burkburnett was John Smedley who arrived in1881. He named his land "Burk Burnett". The present day town of Burkburnett began to form around 1900 when the railroad came through town on its way to Wichita Falls. A few people from nearby towns such as Overton decided to come live here and started a school which they called "Burk Burnett High School". In 1907 a Baptist church was built here and became known as "Church of God." In 1925 the first post office building was built here and it remains still standing today (it had been destroyed by fire). The first store in town opened up soon after also named "Church of God." The name change wasn't just for marketing reasons though - it also reflected the growing religious diversity in this area at that time. A new courthouse and jail were both built between 1939-1940 just west of downtown Burr Oak on Cemetery Road which served as the center for law enforcement for all of Wise County until 1959 when that function transferred to Wichita Falls proper. At one point there were over 100 businesses operating within walking distance of downtown Burr Oak including several banks, restaurants, gas stations, insurance companies etc... All but one have either gone out of business or been demolished over time; only a single general store remains today (the original Church Of God still stands). The Courthouse Annex which housed courtrooms, an attorney's chambers etc... burned down September 9th 1988 while courthouse staff were inside trying to put out a large fire that had started near their offices next door! This left burk Burnett with only its two churches remaining capable of housing court proceedings - currently those are used mostly for community services like adoption ceremonies etc... . Today, most local residents refer to Burr Oak simply as "The Town" or simply "Burk Burnett".

Burkburnett, Texas is a town intx located in Johnson County, Texas. The population was 1,854 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Johnson County. Burkburnett was founded in 1876 by John Burkburnett and his brother Jameson Burkburnett. The two brothers built a log cabin on the east side of what would later become Burkburnett Creek. They named their settlement after William Burkhart, who had settled near them some years earlier. In 1881, John Burkburnett married Sarah Browning and they began to cultivate land around the cabin. In 1886, they built a grist mill on the creek and started to process wheat and other grains into flour for local consumption. In 1899, John Burkburnett died and his wife Sarah took over running the mill and store operation until her death in 1909. AfterSarah's death, sons Jameson Jr., George W., and Lewis Burk Burnett took over operations of the mill until it closed in 1912; thereafter it operated as a general store with occasional trade shows being held at various locations around town until it finally went out of business in 1975. The community that now stands on the site of the brick building which housed the original grocery store was established about 1900 when Charles Eller bought 100 acres adjacent to where present day Burr Burnett Elementary School sits; he donated this land to make an open space for public use including a playground/playground area as well as future school facilities (Eller Elementary). One hundred acres also were donated by Mrs Gertrude Rankin to be used for parkland features southwest of Burr Burnett along main street which included tennis courts/gym facility as well as new homes for families moving from elsewhere within Johnson County during that time period (Rankin Park). The first post office opened at Burr Burnett on May 5th 1902 (Lutherans Cemetery #1) under name "Burk burnette". A run-down old schoolhouse still stands today on North Main Street just west of Rankin Park across from Hooters restaurant - this structure served as both schoolhouse & parsonage from 1902-1924 when burk burnette church moved there from its location near Ladds Ford Rd & Crane Ave due to changes in parish boundaries (& enrollment rates)
