In 1872, Frenchmen started making binoculars with high-powered lenses and large mirrors so they could better see what was happening around them in faraway areas such as Africa or Asia. These types of binoculars became known as “telescopic” binos because they allow you to look at things much farther away than traditional binoculars do. By 1905, Japanese engineers had created a new type of telescope called an encyclopedic lens which permitted users to view details much higher up than ever before possible without having to remove their eyeglasses or use other devices. This technology led directly to the development of telescopic binoculars!

Burkburnett is a town in Chambers County, Texas, United States. The population was 1,868 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Dallas-Fort Worth Metropolitan Statistical Area. Burkburnett was named for James Burkburnet, an early settler. Burkburnett was founded in 1882 by John Laughlin and Wm. Hite. A post office was established in 1883, and the town name changed to Burbank in 1886 because of the burro that grazed on the site. The first school opened in 1889 and remained open until it burned down in 1903. The second school opened in 1893 and also continued to operate until it closed too soon in 1901. In 1907, a water tower was built to serve Burk Burnett Township; this became operational when the township received its own water supply from Comanche Lake in 1909. In 1911, a sawmill was built south of Burk Burnett with assistance from Jock Mahoney; this mill operated until it closed due to economic reasons in 1937. In 1923, a grocery store and post office were built; these buildings remain standing today as part of the community's commercial district (the "burro area"). In 1951 a new courthousewas announced as part of plans for revitalizing downtown Dallas after years of decline; however construction never began due to financial difficulties withinDallas city limits at that time . In 1964 Burbank Elementary School moved from its original location across Main Street from what is now Pecan Grove into newer building which still stands today adjacent to Central Park which fronts onto Elm Street

In 1925, Burkburnett saw its first tornado outbreak, which left several homes destroyed and killed two people. Despite these setbacks, the town continued to grow until World War II when it fell victim to military construction projects. During the war, many jobs were created in local factories and businesses thanks to wartime production shortages.
