Bryan, Texas is a small town located in the U.S. state of Texas. The town was named for Captain James B. Bryan who fought in the Mexican-American War and later served as Governor of Texas from 1876 to 1879. The first scopes were sold in the town on October 15, 1892 by A.J. Caldwell and Wm Hurlbut at their store called the "Bobcats." The first telescope was a 10 inch refractor that was bought by J.W Boyd from Mr Caldwell for $100 cash and used at Bobcat Mountain Observatory before being donated to George Ellsworth at Ellsworth Observatory in 1912 when it went out of business due to lack of use. The first observatories in Bryan were all built by men who had worked or studied at local universities such as Rice University and Texas A&M University where they constructed telescopes with funding from government agencies like NASA then donate them back to universities or private individuals after using them successfully for research purposes including Skylab, Pioneer 8, Apollo 11, and various other space missions! Today there are several scopes located throughout Bryan which allow citizens access toObservatoryaspersonnelandtostudythe universe through its many aspects including astrophysics, chemistry, meteorology, planetology and more! While some have been confiscated during enforcement operations it is still an enjoyable experience to wander around these large telescopes just outside of town!

Bryan, Texas is a city in Tarrant County, Texas, United States. The population was 714 at the 2010 census. Bryan is the county seat of Tarrant County. It is part of the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex and its largest city by area. The city was founded in 1887 as a town called Indianola on the site of present-day Bryan. In 1880, General Sam Houston bought 640 acres (248 hectares) in what would become downtown Bryan for $1 million dollars and named it after his favorite general, Andrew Jackson Houston. The original downtown consisted of three streets running north-south - Broadway Street ran east-west while Main Street ran south-north. In 1907, when Oklahoma became a state, Bryan became the first municipality in Tarrant County to be granted an official charter as a town under Oklahoma law. The charter allowed for two wards with five residents each and allowed for development within commuting distance of both cities of Dallas and Fort Worth which made it possible to attract businesses away from their larger home markets. In 1912, then Mayor John Denton renamed the city "Bryan" after Congressman Tom Litton who had helped to passOklahoma's statehood legislation that same year. Representative Litton served as mayor from 1928 until his death in 1930; he also served as one of two members from Tarrant County on the House Committee on Interstate Commerce which determined how much railroad traffic should be moved through Texas between Tulsa and Galveston daily during prohibition times

Bryan, Texas is a small town in Williamson County,Texas. The population was 1,821 at the 2010 census. The name Bryan comes from the Choctaw word bryde meaning "a little piece of land." It was first settled by Anglo-Americans in 1858. In 1915, Bryan became the county seat of Williamson County and has remained so since then. The early history of the community is reflective of its location on an important trade route between Mexico and Central America. The town began as a small agricultural settlement in what is now downtown Bryan. By 1890, there were over 100 residents living in downtown Bryan and most of these lived on Main Street which ran east-west through the heart of the city. By 1900, business had increased sufficiently that a new courthouse and jail were built on Second Street near present day Elm Street (now called Barton Road). Over time, businesses moved out to spacious new buildings along Elm Street such as the First National Bank Building (1910), American Telephone & Telegraph Company Building (1920), and Post Office Department (1930). In 1915, due to World War I efforts by President Wilson to attract war industry to American soil; Korea had become embroiled in conflict; and Texas legislators felt their voice could be heard more effectively when located within their own state; they passed legislation granting Bryan city status with all attendant powers including chartering its own police force and stadium/exhibition hall(s). In 1924 it voted 3-2 to annex unincorporated Haskell County making it one large municipality. As part of this process; streets were renamed after local officials like Judge John Huggins who served as mayor from 1925 until his death in 1951 or Mayor Harry Fenton who held office from 1935 until his death in 1955. It wasn't until 1973 that Interstate 30 was extended into Williamson County bypassing downtown Bryan so much development took place outside of town limits for fear that a single center would choke off economic growth which it has done only intermittently ever since then despite predictions by some community members thatowntown shopping centers should be replaced by light industrial corridors because they are superior modes of transportation for goods over walking or biking
