Brownwood is a small town in Kaufman County, Texas, United States. The population was 1,456 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Houston–The Woodlands-Sugar Land metropolitan area. Brownwood was founded in 1892 as a wagon stop on the Butterfield Overland Railway between Sugar Land and Huntsville. The town served as an agricultural center until World War II when it became a military base due to its location at Third Army Air Field. As of the census of 2000, there were 1,405 people residing in the town: 593 households out of which 36% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 54% were married couples living together, 11% had a female householder with no husband present, and 31% were non-families; 28% Of all households were made up of individuals and 8% had someone living alone who was 65 years old or older. The average household size was 2 full memberships per householder; there were 3 families per family out of which 30% had two members each; 12% contained three or more members; 3% consisted only of individuals; and 78%. There are no public schools within blocks S0–S4 that serve students from those neighborhoods adjacent to Brownwood landlocked by I-10/Upper KRD Rd., but private schools such as Sam Houston State University are available just outside town limits on FM 1485 road east off US 30/US 281 near mile marker 95 white oak creek bridge crossing over White Oak Creek onFM 1485 property owned by Rice University

Brownwood is a town inBurnet County, Texas, United States. The population was 1,830 at the 2010 census. The first European settlers in this area were French Canadians who founded the village of Lachine on the west bank of the San Jacinto River in 1824. In 1836, they named their settlement after General John Brown's successful raid against Mexican forces at Palo Alto. The town was annexed by Burnet County in 1881. In 1907, Brownwood became one of the original towns designated for annexation into Dallas by Dallas County. The following year, it became the capital of Dallas and remains its seat today. Brownwood has maintained a strong presence within Dallas County through its role as both a community and county seat. Brownwood is located at (32.779671,-99.547959). According to the USGS National Map, it stands on land that once formed part of Quanah Park Golf Course which opened in 1922 and closed in 1984; however, no physical evidence suggests that it ever did so! Quanah Park Golf Course appears to have been abandoned altogether since then! It is also situated right next to (and likely adjacent to) what may be one of America's earliest shopping malls – Raley’s department store – which opened its doors on October 15th, 1924! This development alone should give you pause as just how significant or influential Browns Wood actually was during this timeframe remains unknown; however if you walk around any central business district outside of downtownDallas today and ask people their opinion on all things related to early 20th century American retailing innovation then there’s little doubt that Browns Wood would come up prominently amongst them!
