Brenham, Texas is a small town located in the Driftless Area of north-central Texas. At its peak during the 1930s, Brenham had a population of 1,500 people and was one of the most important rifle stocks centers in America. Today, Brenham’s active rifle stock industry has dwindled to only a few dozen businesses and employees. The Brenham Rifle Stock Center (BRSC) was founded by Edwin P. Gentry in 1923 as the first such center in America. The BRSC was instrumental in developing American firearms into what they are today. Gentry’s vision was to provide customers with quality rifles at low prices,independence from guns Manufacturer monopolies, and knowledgeable staff who would help guide their firearms purchases. Today, the BRSC operates out of a single building on Highway 288 east of downtown Brenham. The building is home to a variety of retail outlets including gunsmithing and reloading supplies; handguns; rifles; shotguns; ammunition products; and historical memorabilia related to Brenham’s history and rifle stocks industry

After the war, many businesses closed down but new ones were established including two gunsmiths - J P Costello and W H Hudgins - who reopened the old store as Costello & Hudgins Sporting Goods Store on West Commerce Street in 1952. In 1957, Johnnie Byrd became Mayor of Brenham and announced his intention to rename the town "Brenham" after his hometown of Georgia which he had recently visited while campaigning for office. This proposal was accepted and renamed "Brenham" City Limits v2 on July 1, 1958

Brenham is a small town located in Johnson County, Texas. The population was 1,394 at the 2010 census. Brenham is part of the Amarillo, TX Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first people to live in what is now Brenham were Native Americans who hunted and gathered plants and animals along the Brazos River. In 1821, Spanish missionaries established a mission here and received permission from Mexico to establish an agricultural colony on the Brazos River. The colonists built churches, schools, and other infrastructure but never developed their plantations because of lack of resources. In 1907, John Wesley Hardin founded Hardin Ranch which became one of the largest cotton plantations in Texas. The ranch was run by Hardin descendants until it was sold to George Pemberton in 1914. Pemberton used his holdings to build another large cotton plantation near Houston called Cotton Belt which became known as Brenham after him. Brenham experienced a series of floods that destroyed most of its buildings during the 1930s and 1940s caused by flash flooding caused by men-made Lake Texoma Reservoir expansion projects downstream from town limits which increased water levels during periods of heavy rains or snowmelt events
Brenham is located in McLennan County, Texas, on the banks of the Trinity River. The town was founded by pioneers in 1827, and it became a major center for cotton farming during the 19th century. In 1865, Brenham was renamed for John A. Brenham, a United States Senator from Texas.
