The company produced binoculars for a variety of reasons including military use, surveying, hunting and fishing. The early binoculars were made from wood which was painted to reflect the user’s sight lines while hunting or Surveying. By the 1890s, metal lenses had become available which made better vision with less error due to light interference. With advances in photography and film technology, manufacturers began producing images on glass as well as plastic optics during the 1920s and 1930s. This led to increased production and demand for binoculars both domestically and abroad. By the 1970s, electronic devices such as digital cameras had replaced traditional optical telescopes so it was difficult for manufacturers to produce qualitybinocular products anymore. Brenham is located in the Hill Country of Texas, about 35 miles north of Austin. The town was founded by George Brenham in 1872, and it grew rapidly during the early years of the 20th century. By 1930, Brenham had a population of over 4,000 people. The city's heyday came after World War II, when it became one of the largest cotton towns in Texas. However, Brenham declined during the 1970s and 1980s as a result of economic decline and lack of investment. Today, the city has a population of just over 1,000 people and is considered an outer suburb of Austin. Brenham's history can be traced back to 1872 when George Brenham settled on a small ranch near what is now Brenham. At that time, Texans were still struggling to come to terms with their newly acquired independence from Mexico. So much so that even though Texas was admitted into the United States as a state in 1846, many residents continued to call themselves Mexican nationals. For some reason or another, George Brenham decided to name his new community after himself – George Brienamton – which stuck around until 1957 when it was changed to BrenHAM (for “Brennamton”). The first settlers in what would become BrenHAM were John Renfro and James Goodnight who arrived in 1873. Their families quickly built up a successful business selling goods needed for farming and ranching out to other farmers across central Texas. In addition to their farmsteads and businesses; Renfro and Goodnight also donated land towards building what would become downtown BrenHAM – which included both the current day courthouse building as well as various industrial buildings such as a foundry and flour millrace (now known as Slaughter Lane). Over time however things began going wrong for renowned entrepreneur/businessman/builder George BrienamTON: starting with falling prices for cotton following World War I; followed by droughts throughout the 1920s; Finally culminating in Prohibition-era profitability woes that left many entrepreneursand businessmen out of work throughout most if not all TX counties circa 1928-1930 (see photos here) . In fact; even before prohibition ended & Reconstruction began thru political wrangling within TX gov't(see below), GEORGE BARREENAMTON WAS BUSY BUSINESSMAN IN TEXAS BUT MISSING ALL THE GOOD NEWS FROM BACK HOME . RESTORED FREE STUFF WERE HAVING TO MAKE DO WITH WHAT THEY GOT . BY THEN HE SHOULD KNOW THAT HIS PEOPLE WERE HITTING A ROCK ; SO WHEN FREE TRADE ENDED AGAIN AND PROHIBITION CAME INTO EFFECT APRIL 30TH 1931 , GEORGE BARREANAMTON STOPPED WORKING IN TEXAS ALLtogether WHILE HIS FAMILY CONTINUED TO BUILD THEIR HOUSE ON SLAUGHTER LANE .. NOT LONG AFTER THAT THEY SOLD IT FOR $10K TO A REAL ESTATE MANAGER WHO CONVINced THEM TO MOV HERE .. THAT WAS WHEN THE FLOW OF PEOPLE STARTED REALLY TAKE OFF .. DRUGS AND LOSSES IMPACTED EVERYDAY LIFE MORE THAN EVER BEFORE .. THIS IS HOW WE FORM OUR VALUES TODAY .. BEFORE EITHER PARTY WAS MORE POWERFUL OR PRESCRIBED RIGHT ; NOW IT JUST MAKES SENSE AS FAR AS ETHICS ARE CONCERNED
