Many businesses have been established in recent years that have helped contribute to economic stability in this small rural community: First Baptist Church (founded about 1880),the Midland County Courthouse (1896),the Borger Museum (1910),the Lone Star State Railroad Museum (1924),the Bicentennial Park & BBQ Tournament Grounds(1999)andYouth Sports Complex(2006).
