This annexation created two new municipalities - Arlington Heights and Mesquite - with populations totaling almost 100% more than those currently living in Big Spring proper! A $2 million dollar campaign was launched by Mayor Tom Flannery in order to make sure residents knew about all aspects associated with annexation including committee meetings where residents could discuss any concerns they had about their new municipality’s operations; information sessions were also held throughout baseball stadiums throughout Dallas/Fort Worth area; and posters were distributed not only throughout downtown but also at gas stations across Collin County! In less than one year after becoming an annexed municipality there already existed over 1,000 people living inside our borders!
