Benbrook is a town in Webb County, Texas, United States. The population was 3,812 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Austin–Round Rock metropolitan area. The Benbrook Civic Center and the Webb County Courthouse are two of the most prominent buildings in town. The first people to live in Benbrook were pioneers who moved from Mission San Antonio de Buenaventura (now San Marcos) in 1836. In 1868, an estimated 1,500 people lived in what is now Benbrook when it became a county seat of Webb County. The townsite that would become Benbrook was platted on December 15, 1881 by John Wesley Hardin and Wm. Hoggarty with lots measuring . A post office called "Benbrook" was established in 1886, and remained in operation until it closed on July 5, 1916. In 1907 the townsite was enlarged by adding land to the north side of US 183 east of CR 2121 which would later be known as Elmendorf Road/Benbrook Boulevard. The new town developed around a Methodist church and other civic buildings that were built between 1907-1911 for $5 per acre (1¢ per square foot). The expansion led to many factories being built near the edge of town because there were no limits on how much land could be acquired for industrial development without giving up property rights or becoming annexation targets by neighboring municipalities

Benbrook is a small town in McLennan County, Texas, United States. The population was 573 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Dallas-Fort Worth metropolitan area. The name Benbrook comes from a creek that flowed through the community and Post office. A post office called Benbrook was established in 1884, and remained in operation until it was discontinued in 1907. Benbrook's first settler, John Burritt, arrived in 1879. He built a log cabin on what is now Main Street and named it Burritt Station. The first store opened in 1889 at this location; it became known as the Burritt Hardware Store. In 1908, Benbrook had one school: an elementary school which closed in 1922, and a high school which opened in 1954. The first postmaster of Benbrook was J H Craddock Jr.. In 1957, land north of Main Street were donated to build the present day Permian Basin Petroleum School for Kindergarten through 12th grade students located on White Settlement Road across from Community Hall Elementary School (now renamed Park Elementary School). This school served as the only public school within two miles of downtown Benbrook until 1975 when Modern High School opened nearby with added classrooms during Stage II construction of Interstate 635 freeway bypassing benbrook
