The rancho state park was eventually renamed after them in 1969 when they donated it to the state of Texas. In 1932, rancher J A Salinger built an adobe hotel called the Hotel del Paso which now sits on the edge of town limits. In 1951, oilman Edsel Ford purchased 10 acres (40 hectares) northeast of Benbrook and began to develop it into what would become Ford Manor State Park. The park includes a museum about Ford's life and business interests which opened in 1957.

Benbrook is a census-designated place in Hudspeth County, Texas, United States. The population was 1,868 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Austin–Round Rock metropolitan area.
