Belton is a small city located in the Texas Panhandle and has been inhabited since the 1840s. The earliest references to Belton occur in 1845, when it was named for General Sam Houston, who had served as its first mayor. By 1860, Belton had a population of over 100 people and was known for its production of gunpowder and shot. In 1865, during the American Civil War, Belton became an important logistical center for Confederate forces due to its location on the railroad between Dallas and Little Rock. Over the course of the war, Belton's output of munitions tripled from 2,000 pounds per month to 10,000 pounds per month. In addition to its role as a supply depot for Confederate troops, Belton also functioned as a base of operations for Union forces operating in central Texas. During Reconstruction following the end of the Civil War, Belton experienced significant growth thanks to both white settlement and black migration. In 1871, Mayor John Ahern established a city government which included five wards: Blue Ridge (northwest corner of First Street and US Highway 67), Cumberland (southwest corner of Second Street and US Highway 68), Elmira (east side of Third Street between US Highways 6 & 14), Hillsboro ( southeast corner of Fourth Street between US Highways 9 & 10) and Parkerville ( northwest corner on Cedar Avenue). The rapid growth withinBelTON led to increased traffic congestion on downtown streets which resulted in the erection of several large obstructions around town including two immense water tanks – one measuring 137 feet by 30 feet tall – that were completed in 1876. The water tanks were designed as targets capable of sustaining high degrees Of fire without being destroyed; however they were never used for this purpose but remain today as partofBelTON's civic fabric. In 1898, BELTOWN added an armORY to their existing arsenal with three rifle ranges - one measuring 192 feet by 45 feet wide - while also constructing an attached garage/workshop/factory which served as their primary mechanical shop until 1934 when they moved their entire arsenal into new facilities at 421 W Main St.. This new facility allowed BELTOWN to produce ammunition at unprecedented rates leading directly to their success during World War II when they produced over 1 million rounds per day...the highest number ever achieved by any United States military organization

To make a gun target, you will need: 1) A sturdy piece of wood 2) A drill or a saw with a 1” hole in it 3) A black powder charge 4) Some type of paint (optional) 5) An 81mm mortar or rocket launcher (or other appropriate projectile device) 6) Gunpowder (or other explosives, if using artillery munitions) 7) Canvas or some other strong material for mounting the target on top of (optional; see pictures below for examples of targets that have been made this way). On September 5, 1865, Union General John A. McClernand ordered his forces to converge on Belton in order to capture the Confederate arsenal and armament manufacturing center. The objective was twofold: first, to disrupt Confederate supplies of munitions and ammunition; and second, to inflict maximum casualties on the enemy. The Union army's movement was carefully planned and coordinated, with artillery bombardments artistically supported by infantry columns as they moved forward. By 9 a.m., McClernand's force had reachedBelton's outskirts and began shelling the city from long-range cannons. By 1 p.m., most of the city was ablaze, leaving behind an utter destruction that would last for days. Destruction continued until sunset; all but one block of downtownBelton had been leveled or completely destroyed. In total, over 400 buildings were burned or damaged in this attack; many more were destroyed during later battles in Belton. Aftermath of the Battle of Belton

Belton is a small town in Webb County, Texas, United States. The population was 1,876 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Austin–Round Rock metropolitan area. The first post office in Belton was established on November 15, 1881. The name of the town was changed to Belton in 1907 when it merged with neighbouring Lubbock. In 1924, Belton annexed the adjacent towns of Grande Prairie and Weatherford and became a full municipality. Belton experienced economic stagnation during the Great Depression but rebounded after World War II with an emphasis on manufacturing jobs in aircraft and shipbuilding. A major employer until 2009 was Alcoa which closed its plants there over production problems that included pests and climate change-related illness among employees. Renaissance Technologies LLC., a hedge fund manager based in Stamford, Connecticut acquired a controlling interest in Alcoa's stock before the company went bankrupt in 2013; however Belton residents continue to rely on aluminum products from Alcoa due to its proximity to local resources such as copper foundries and Refineries 6 & 7 located just outside of town limits

Gun targets continued to be made throughout the Middle Ages and into the Renaissance. The most famous gun target of all time is the Mona Lisa, which was photographed with a camera obscura in 1525 AD. During World War II, many Targetmasters were developed to shoot at night using precision optics. These targetmasters could fire shots that were up to 1,500 yards away from the target. Machineguns also became available during World War II and they were used extensively for shooting at enemy positions. In 1945, however, artillery began using mortars instead of guns to bombard targets in order to destroy them completely. Gun targets had finally become obsolete because they could no longer be hit with precision munitions.
