In the early 1800s, Bellaire was a thriving community in Texas. Brown, who founded Brown & Company (later J&D Brown) in 1872. The company became one of the most successful merchant firms in Texas during the late 1800s and early 1900s. John D.Brown was born on October 20th, 1849, in Bellaire, a small town located near Austin, Texas. He was the son of Baptist preacher David A. Brown and his wife Martha Jane Hoggins. David A. Brown had moved from Kentucky toBellaire in 1848 after purchasing land there from General Sam Houston for $3 per acre (approximately $40 per kilometer at that time). At that time, Bellaire was a busy farming community with over 100 residents and two cotton plantations-oneowned by Governor Tryon and one owned by Judge Bledsoe- both of which were managed by Captain James Faughtroyen. Brown attended public school until he entered high school at age 14 where he excelled in athletics and mathematics; he also developed an interest in business which would later serve him well as he embarked on his career as an entrepreneur throughout his life. After high school, Brown enlisted into the US Army where he served for three years before being discharged due to illness at age 21 years old (this is still an event unprecedented at the time). Upon his discharge from military service, Brown returned home to open up his own business: Browns Trading Post & Implement Store (now known as Kline Real Estate) inside what is now City Hall Plaza downtown Bellaire- this store would become one of the most successful mercantile enterprises in Texas during its heyday between 1865-1920! In addition to running Browns Trading Post & Implement Store- which became known nationally for its quality products- John D.Brown also founded various other businesses including Air Service Station #2 (later renamed Kenedy's), Barber Shop #1 (later renamed Kline's Hair Salon), Hardware Store #2 (& later replaced by Donelson's Hardware), Dairy Farm #1 (& later replaced by White Manor Dairy), etc.; all of which would successively make him one of Texas' most powerful businessmen during this era! It should be noted that even though John D.'Brown’s businesses thrived during prohibition times because they sold liquor without a license (!), they did not actually face any legal troubles because prohibition itself did not technically exist until 1907! This demonstrates just how prosperousBellaire must have been under John D.'brown's ownership! John D.'Brown died on December 12th, 1928 at the age of 94 years old after a long career spanning over 70 years! His legacy will continue onto future generations through his many businesses and accomplishments which include starting numerous construction projects across Texassuch as The Travis County Jail expansion project – one ofwhich is currently under construction adjacent to current day Deming Square downtown Austin – among others!

Bellaire is a city in Tarrant County, Texas, United States. The population was 20,906 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Fort Worth–Arlington metropolitan area. The first post office in Bellaire was established on February 14, 1868. The name derived from "Belle" (a female deer), which was given to it by General John Custer during his ride through the town in 1876. The first store in Bellaire opened on October 15, 1870 and was run by three residents: James Sweeny, Wm. Fenton and myself. Mrs. Hays conducted the store for about two years until she moved to Fort Worth and reopened her store there in 1872 under the new name of Mrs. Hays' Fort Worth Store #1. From its inception until 1907, Bellaire's only public school was named De Witt School; this school closed as a result of financial difficulties experienced by the municipality during that time period In 1907, when Tarrant County voters passed an ordinance authorizing annexation into Dallas County (later Arlington County), Bellaire became one of the original 12 cities included within that county In 1912-1915bellaire had its own police department but it merged withFort Worth PD effective September 15th 1915 In 1916-1920the fort worth PD annexed bellaire so bellaires schools were consolidated into fort worth PD but they continued to operate separately until 1984 when they were reorganized into one entity

In 1965, when Interstate 35 was completed through central Texas, Bellaire became an important interchange point for motorists travelling between Dallas and Austin.
