Bellaire, Texas is a small town located in the state of Texas. The population was 2,824 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Dallas-Fort Worth-Arlington Metropolitan Statistical Area. Bellaire is a bedroom community with an average home price of $123,000. The name "Bellaire" comes from the Köppen climate classification system which classifies this location as a humid subtropical climate (Cfa). As such, Bellaire experiences significant rainfall during periods of high humidity, making it difficult to grow crops or build homes without irrigation. Nevertheless, Bellaire has become known for its many shopping and dining opportunities, as well as its vibrant art and culture scene. Today's Bellaire was founded by Levi Holland in 1875 when he bought land near what is now Interstate 10 and Pecan Road. The first post office was established in 1879 and soon became known as "Holland's Mills". By 1907, the town had grown to more than 5600 residents and had its own school district. In 1915, Holland sold his holdings to Wm Hogg for $1 million dollars which made him one of the richest men in Texas at that time. During World War II, Holland donated much of his wealth to help support patriotic worthy causes across America including construction lending libraries throughout Education Command (later Army Corps of Engineers) troops deployed in North Africa and Europe; Operation Torch; Allied drive against Nazi Germany; etc... In 1948 Holland died due to complications from a stroke he received two years earlier while on vacation in Florida.. His wife Vera took over running their holdings until her death in 1951; after which they were passed down through their children until they were sold to Luria Corporation whose owners changed hands several times before finally being acquired by Deutsche Bank AG who kept them until 1984 when they were put up for sale again and purchased by Dr. Alain Bedrosian who announced plans to turn them into a residential development known as "The New Brick House". In recent years there have been numerous efforts made within Bellaire to revive downtown businesses along Pecan Road/I-10 corridor - most notably Rhonda's Coffee & Bagel Shop - which has led to increased foot traffic on key streets during morning rush hours thanks largely to Baileys Irish Coffee bar situated right next door! Bellaire, Texas is a small town in Webb County, Texas. The population was 1,944 at the 2000 census. It is the county seat of Webb County and the largest city in Webb County by population. The Bellaire post office operated from 1881 to 1901. The first store on Main Street opened in 1881, according to history books. The family of Amos Bell (1812-86) started this business which became the largest mercantile concern in what is now Webb County when they moved from Tennessee to Bellaire in 1876. They were successful and continued their operations until 1901 when they sold out their holdings to J.P Cook & Sons Merchants Incorporated who renamed it Cook's Mercantile Bankers chartered under the laws of Texas on February 14, 1902 with Wm Hogg as president and A W Rankin as secretary/treasurer. In 1909, Harry Lapp opened his Department Store here which became one of Texaco's earliest gas stations along with locations at FM 393 and US 281 south of town. In 1950s Harvey Phillips built a large ranch house here that served as his home for many years until he sold it in 2003 to Driscoll Farms LLC which used it as a research farm before demolishing it in 2006 for construction of an evangelical church complex known as Trinity United Reformed Church building located adjacent today on land once occupied by Moody Bible Institute Building No. 5 across Loop 610 West (now Good Shepherd Lutheran Church). On August 29th, 1907 a tornado passed through this community leaving damage throughout the town including extensive damage to homes and businesses including most notably that of Mrs Frick’s grocery store destroyed completely crippling her operation for several months afterwards Fauquier also lost over $10 000 worth of merchandise inside her store while other stores sustained minor losses or no damage at all According To Handbook Of Texas Online - "A total loss was reported for groceries brought into Fauquier; however some local families managed successfully to salvage whatever items could be saved". This tornado has been classified by some experts as one of America’s “deadliest natural disasters” ever with death toll estimated anywhere from 20-50 per cent up through recent studies ranging from 10-25%. At its peak portions within two blocks radius were leveled almost two football fields deep killing six people three children among others .
