In the early 1900s, Bellaire was a small town in Texas with a population of around 1,000. However, it soon became known as the " Ammunition Capital of Texas" due to its wide variety of ammunition products and services. The first ammunition store in Bellaire opened in 1892 and quickly became one of the most popular shopping destinations for hunters and shooters in the area. Today, there are multiple ammo stores located throughout Bellaire, as well as an online store that offers a wide selection of ammo products. One of the earliest pioneers in the Ammo industry was Johnnie Beattie who started his own manufacturing business in 1916. Beattie's company manufactured muzzleloaders, rifle rounds, pistols and shotguns among other items. He is considered to be one of the fathers of modern ammunition manufacture. During World War II, Bellaire played an important role within The United States military by providing ammunition for artillery units throughout Europe. In addition, many munitions firms were located here such as Winchester Repeating Arms Company (Winchester), Remington Arms Company (Remington) and Browning Arms Company (Browning). After World War II ended, many people inBellaire decided they wanted to start their own businesses instead of selling munitions products. This led to the development of several new ammunition companies over the ensuing years including Hornady Ammunition Corporation (Hornady), Federal Munitions Incorporated (Federal Munitions) and McDonough & Associates Ammunition Manufacturing LLC (McDonough & Associates).

Bellaire, Texas is a town located in Cass County, Texas, United States. The population was 2,711 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Austin-Round Rock metropolitan area. The town was founded by General James Denton in 1849 as a post office called "Dentonville" on the banks of the Brazos River. The name changed to "Belleair" in 1868 when Belleair Depot became the first self-contained depot west of Houston. In 1907, Belleair became an independent city and remained so until it merged with Austin on January 1, 2013. Belleair's history can be traced back to 1849 when General James Denton established a Post Office at "Dentonville," which served as his headquarters for southwestern Texas during the Mexican–American War (1846-48). A few months later, he named his new post "Belleair" after himself and his daughter Belle (née Flanders). With its single storey log cabin buildings and large cottonwood trees that lined both banks of the Brazos River, Belleair soon become one of southern Texas' most popular watering places for cattle and farmers alike. In 1907, Belleair experienced its greatest growth as an independent city when it amalgamated with Austin into one municipality under the name of Austin-Round Rock. At that time, BelleAIR had over 1,000 citizens; today it remains just over 1 thousand residents in total. Despite some initial struggles associated with annexing other municipalities within Round Rock – such as high population density around key shopping areas – overall growth resulted in increased tax revenues for both cities combined since annexation occurred. Inexpensive land acquisitions by Round Rock led to increasing suburban development along Interstate 35W outside of downtown Bellaire: White Settlement (originally known as Highland Park), Eastside Villages (later known as Glen Rose), South Side Villages (later known as Springdale), North Side Villages (later known as Georgetown) and Heritage Crossing developments are all now well-known addresses within Bellaire limits today! It wasn't until after World War II that housing prices began to increase significantly within Bellaire limits resulting in more people moving into central business districts like Downtown Austin or West Lake Hills close by instead! Today’s Belaire community still suffers from some degree of residual poverty although Mayor Ron Huffman has made significant strides towards addressing this issue over recent years culminating with Proposition 6 passing overwhelmingly last November through City Council giving Belaire taxpayers control over property zoning regulations – finally providing much needed stability & permanence to our otherwise rapidly changing community!
Bellaire, Texas was founded in 1859 by John Bell and his wife, Elizabeth. The city is named after John's grandfather, James A. Bell. In 1865, the city was named for General Sam Houston. On November 1, 1907, the original town of Bellaire was annexed to the City of Dallas.
