Beeville is a small town in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex, located in Tarrant County, Texas. As of the 2010 census, its population was 8,569. It is part of the Arlington-Ft Worth metropolitan area. The name "Beeville" comes from an Indian word meaning "broad prairie." The first settler in what is now Beeville was James Mclntyre who arrived circa 1836. A post office was established at Beeville on February 14, 1837, and remained in operation until it was discontinued on December 15, 1903. The first school in Beeville was built on a small lot near the center of town by Mrs. Fannie Tookey. In 1840 Mrs. Tookey donated land to build a public school which became known as White School House #2 after her husband Reverend John Whitehead served as superintendent for many years (1841-1886). By 1852 there were two schools: one for white children and one for black children under twelve years old called Booker T Washington High School (later renamed Trinity Western University). A new courthouse was built about 1900 on Courthouse Square (now US 75) and later used as the Annex to Uptown Park before it closed down due to structural problems and became a storage warehouse in 2006; however it reopened under new management as the Foundry Museum earlier this year. The original jail also stood on Courthouse Square until it burned down in 1936; however because most of downtown ended up being destroyed by fire that same year both buildings still stand today except for their foundations which have been replaced by housing units redevelopment project slated to be completed next year . In 1916 Beeville had its first store open when J W Boyd opened his grocery store at 6th & Elm Streets which he operated until 1922 when he sold his business to H C Bivens who operated it until his death in 1949 then passed it along to his son HC Bivens Jr who ran it until 1984 when finally sold it back to James Mclntyre Jr who operates it currently today with slight changes every few years or so since establishment including adding more parkingLot space inside/outside building& renovating some old infrastructure like water line

Beeville is a small town in Cameron County, Texas, United States. The population was 1,839 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Austin–Round Rock metropolitan area. The first people to live in Beeville were the Creek tribe who built their homes on the bluff overlooking the present-day town. The first post office was established in 1876, and by 1895 it had become an important trading center for cattle and goods moving up the Trinity River. In 1905, Beeville became a town when oil came along Highway 6 from Houston and began to be developed there. In 1959, Beeville High School opened its doors to students from all over Texas as part of a statewide education initiative called "The Great Texan". The school has since been renamed Barton High School after its original benefactor and namesake Barton Hoggs Sr., one of two business men (the other being Sam Walton) who donated $25 million for construction of multiple high schools across Texas during that period. As more Texans moved into Beeville during the late 1960s and early 1970s seeking opportunities in energy production or ranching businesses, many young people brought their families with them; this led to what is now known as "Beeville Boom" which peaked in 1978 with an influx of 1,500 residents. However, this prosperity quickly dissipated as oil prices plummeted starting in 1979; over ensuing years crime rates increased while poverty rates stabilized or even decreased slightly until 1993 when they started to rise again due largely to drought conditions that hit much of central Texas hard. Economic deterioration followed as jobs disappeared while home values plunged; however some new development has begun to revitalize downtown Beeville but it remains challenging economically compared to other localities throughout central TX during these tough times Since 2000 things have improved somewhat but still remain very difficult for most citizens especially those living near downtown due lack of job prospects or access to affordable housing developments despite efforts by several community organizations like Bluegrass Startups which has been developing several properties within walking distance of downtown including currently a tech accelerator/co-working space/retail store called Park Place
Beeville, Texas was founded in 1836 by Captain James Fenton. The town quickly became a stop on the Santa Fe Trail and grew to be a thriving community. In 1849, Beeville was renamed for General John C. Beeville after he distinguished himself during the Mexican-American War. The town continued to prosper until the 20th century, when it experienced significant decline in population and economic activity.
