When Texas was admitted to the United States in 1845, there were very few people living in what is now Beeville. The area that is now Beeville was first populated by the Kickapoo and Pecos Indian tribes. In 1840, Anglo-American settlers began to arrive in the area, and by 1851, a small town had been established called Beeville. At first, Beeville was primarily used as a ranching center for the surrounding cattle country. However, over time it became an important commercial center due to its location on the San Antonio River. In 1860, Beeville became part ofillo County, Texas and soon developed into one of the most important dry goods stores in South Texas. In 1898, when Texas became an Independent State, Beeville remained part ofillo County until 1907 when it separated from county and formed its own government. Today, Beeville is still an important cultural and economic center in South Texas because of its diverse history and many cultural attractions such as its museum which features artifacts from both Spanish colonialism and post-independence American culture.

After years of growth, Beeville's water supply became inadequate in 1932 so Municipal Water District No 1 (MWD) built two wells each side of Prairie Creek to provide Municipal service to all residents without regard to sex or race making bevilles one colorized city within Texas! Today you can find piped water services available throughout much of downtown Amarillo however this older system still provides some benefits such as avoiding high water bills when outages are scheduled!
