At first these were just small tubes filled with lead or other explosives that would be fired off at targets within range using muzzle velocity Jones rockets. However, due to their poor accuracy and low power it took some time for these gunsights to become more reliable and efficient than earlier designs. By 1957, all automatic cannons in service in the United States were fitted with gun lasers as part of their armament development program known as “The System” (TSA). In 1865, Baytown become the temporary capital of Mexican America following General Antonio López de Santa Anna's successful attempt to overthrow Spanish rule in what is now Chiapas; Santa Anna chose Baytown because its location made it convenient for his army to move supplies and headquarters from Monterrey across the Rio Grande into central Mexico without having to go through Caracas orMexico City. After Santa Anna's defeat in that battle, Mexicans returned home and Baytown reverted back to Mexican America status until Ulysses S Grant took control of Mexico in 1872 during Reconstruction and moved the capital northward to Chihuahua City; here it remains today as the second largest city in Mexico City with a population numbering more than two million people despite being smaller than both Guadalajara (the 13thlargest city in Mexico) and Ciudad Juárez (the 15thlargest). During World War II, Baytown played host to both naval yards Noons Island Naval Air Station which housed Lockheed P-38 Lightning fighters engaged against Japanese submarines off Bataan Peninsula as well as Naval Hospital ship USS Browning which served as a training center for American Navy pilots flying combat missions over Japan during World War II Additionally there was also Ford Motor Company Plant #1 opened up during 1945 along with new housing developments built nearby including one called "Alamo Heights". New industries began arriving intoBaytown during post war years such as plastics manufacturing starting out at Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co., meatpacking industry coming from Slaughterhouse 5 adjacent to Memorial Stadium Marketplace before eventually fading away leaving much empty land around downtown area which has since been filled by subdivisions including "Humble", " Magnolia" etc.. In recent years redevelopment efforts have begun again especially around downtown area with several high end apartment complexes being built such as OneMarriottBayTownHouston
