Balch Springs, Texas is a small town located in Tarrant County, Texas. The population was 5,651 at the 2010 census. It is the seat of Tarrant County and the largest city within the county. Situated on the banks of the Trinity River, Balch Springs was once a thriving milltown with 6 miles (10 km) of water frontage. Today,Balch Springs retains its original buildings and streets as well as its rich history dating back to 1884 when it was founded as a Cherokee Nation trading post by J.D. Polk and his brother-in-law Wiley Poston. In 1886, George Washington Morrison became president of Baylor University in Waco,Texas and he appointed Mr. Poston to chair an expert committee to investigate land grants that had been made to Creek Indians in what is now Tarrant County. The report resulted in the granting of 4 square miles (10 km²) for development along the Trinity River near present day Balch Springs. This eventually led to the founding of what is now known as The First Indian School which opened in 1892 on land donated by Judge John A McClendon Sr.. In 1902 sawthe first oil panning operation taking place outside of North America when John Hargrave from England drilled 11 wellspooling off Old Fort Worth Creek near present day Midland Park . This event exposed natural resources available for exploration in Tarrant County and has played an important role in advancing transportation across this region ever since Though hunting and fishing were popular activities during early 1800s through most part of today’s United States there was no major industry or trade developed here until railroads came into play during late 19th century due largely to lack thereof access to natural resources throughout much of Southwestern US

The town was founded in 1881 by John Fenton and named for him, Samuel Balch. In 1907, it became the first municipality in Tarrant County to have an electric light system and streetcars ran through the town from 1911 to 1913. In 1928,Balch Springs incorporated as a city and has since grown into one of Southwestern Texas' largest cities with a diverse economy based on retail trade, services, natural resources and manufacturing.

Pioneer scopes had higher resolution than earlier designs and could be used for more detailed examinations of objects. In 1795, an American scientist named Benjamin Franklin developed a new type of telescope that was much better at resolving details than earlier models. This new telescope was called the Franklin Telescope and it was eventually used to measure the distance between Earth and Mars. The popularity of scoops began to grow in the late 1800s and this led to their development into what are today known as telescopes! Many different types of telescopes have been developed over the years and each has its own unique capabilities and uses. Some of these include: astronomical telescopes which can be used to observe stars or planets; space probes which use lasers to explore space; microscopy devices which allow us to see tiny detail within items such as bacteria or viruses; land-based telescopes which allow us to see things like asteroids or mountains from a distance; even 3D scanners which can be used for various purposes such as scanning fabric or metal

The town had a population of only 150 people when it was founded, but it rapidly grew due to the oil boom that started in 1901. In 1907, the town reached its peak with a population of 3,500 people. However, the oil boom ended in 1911 and the city quickly declined in popularity. It has since decreased in population and importance however, and is now mostly known for its status as a small community near Dallas.
Balch Springs is a city in Midland County, Texas, United States. The population was 10,876 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Dallas-Fort Worth metropolitan area. The city took its name from James Balch (1821-1896), who developed land near the present site of Balch Springs on October 14, 1881. In 1907, Balch Springs became the first municipal corporation in Midland County and was incorporated as a town on November 7, 1907. The original name for the town was "Baldwin". On March 20, 1912, Baldwin changed its name to "Barlow" after James Barrett (1856-1924), one of its founders and mayor from 1912 to 1916. The post office at Baldwinsville closed on September 15, 1951; it had been in operation for 36 years.
