Azle is located approximately 25 miles southeast of Dallas and 50 miles northwest of Austin on Interstate 10/Upper Kirby Road along the banks of the Sabine River before turning southwest onto FM 527/Upper Valley Rd., which leads directly into Hudspeth County proper about 12 miles further downriver from where it begins. According to the 2010 census estimates Handbook Of Texas Online - Population Estimates For All Counties: "There are two airports within driving distance with scheduled passenger service: George Bush Intercontinental Airport - DFW within 30 minutes' travel time from central Azle via I-10 or US 75/I-30 eastbound;and Brownsville International Airport - TX within 2 hours’ travel time from central Azle via I-10 or US 75/I-30 westbound."
