The history of shooting protection in Azle, Texas dates back to the early 1800s. The first shot heard in Azle was fired by a hunter named Johnnie Inman on May 1, 1868. A hunting cabin located off of FM 918 near present-day Azle housed hunters and their families for many years. One of the earliest references to shooting protection is from an article written in 1903 by W.B. Cullum entitled “Shooting at Fishing Places” which stated that shotguns were not necessary for fishing purposes as handguns were adequate for that purpose. This statement likely originated from the fact that most fishing locations were well out of rifle range, making shotguns less practical when attempting to take game species such as largemouth bass or catfish. In 1907, A&W Beer Corporation began marketing a soft drink called Pabst Blue Ribbon which became one of the most popular brands in America. At some point during this time, they decided to start production at their brewery inside what is now known as Pinnacle Shopping Center on US Highway 287 south of town. To accommodate this new production facility, they constructed a largempanel Shooting Range adjacent to their brewery building with 10 bays each side and a size capacity of up to 100 shooters per bay! This huge range quickly became one of the largest shooting ranges in Texas and remains so today! This massive range was probably instrumental in helping contribute to the growth of gun ownership within Azle over subsequent decades; it was also responsible for launching numerous local businesses into successful careers! Unfortunately, due to its popularity and potential danger (particularly during thunderstorms), the range underwent several renovations over time that ultimately caused it much harm; one such renovation involved removing all but two lanes (the third lane had been closed off since its inception) leaving only four lanes open which resulted in increased traffic congestion and decreased shooting opportunities! One recent attempt at restoring/updating theRange occurred in late 2018 when multiple azle citizens pooled resources together and purchased an old .22lr revolver from someone who had sold it online! They then set about rehabilitating/restoring it using traditional firearms techniques including sandbagging, hand-welding & paintballing before finally hosting a three-day shootathon celebrating its returnto operation!! Despite having many negative consequences (such as reduced firepower available due to lack oflane width), this project was eventually successful enough that they are currently planning another restoration/updates launch soon!!!

In addition to these two churches, there is also an Evangelical church which serves as the town's only source of social services. The current mayor is Donna Anderson, who was elected in November 2009 with 60% of the vote against any other candidate

The first store in town opened its doors on October 6, 1907. This store was operated by J.M. Hardin and his son-in-law Wm. Crain until it closed its doors in 1912 because of financial difficulties caused by World War I prices high enough to support only one grocery store but not high enough for more than two stores combined; however, due to popular demand for azleside produce during this time there were still sporadic sightings of horse drawn buggies running between stores withAZL residents getting their groceries delivered right to their homes! The first electricity service arrived in 1920 which allowed businesses like Beechwood Mercantile Hardware & Dry Goods on Beltline Road (now Southside Boulevard) to get power before any other businesses as it then became possible for them also open late into the night! grocer Fenton opened up his establishment at 2nd and Elm Streets just north of downtown circa 1922 doing well until he closed shop around 1964 due largely to competition from Kroger who had moved into central Midland several years earlier! World War II brought about great changes for Azle as many citizens turned unto the war effort both locally and nationally supplying goods needed by their friends and neighbors including making contributions such as sending foodstuffs and clothes directly home or contributing money that went towards local charities such as Mercy Ships Red Cross Society which transported wounded soldiers back home across Canada Additionally AZL saw some growth within its borders with numerous new housing developments being built throughout 1945-1946 including barracks for U S Army troops stationed along Clear Lake during World War II known today as Green Oaks Drive Neighborhood Park . These developments included: North side Addition - completed 1945; Southwest Side Addition - completed 1946; Northwest Side Addion - completed 1948; East Side Addion - finished 1951; West Side Addion - finished 1952 With ample employment opportunities available following World War II manyAZL residents decided they would rather stay put while others left eitheroğanowing technology becoming available or choosing relocation every few decades instead of staying put where conditions were often difficult given limited economic resources (). One such example may be noted regarding truck stop operations which began beneath Highway 290 near Clear Lake beginning around 1950 soon followed by stores located at Loop 610 & Cypresstown Road (now Spring Branch Parkway) providing access down Interstate 10 westbound from Houston via FM 1960 Bypass south bound offering refreshments 24 hours a day 7 days a week . Workforce relocation became more common starting around 1970 when companies began moving production plants away from large metropolitan areas like Detroit or Chicago leading someAZL residents deciding that if they could stay close thereto then they would rather do so since new transportation options were readily available consisting primarily of air travel!! From here on outazleside events have become an annual event taking place over Memorial Day weekend typically attracting hundreds upon hundreds of people who attend various activities related thereto from camping grounds located nearby all the way up through live music performances by local bands all culminating with fireworks displays over Clear Lake sometime prior to May 4th !!
