Azle, Texas is a small town in the Midwestern United States. It is located about an hour and a half east of Dallas and an hour and a half west of Austin. Azle was founded in 1892 as a post office and has been the county seat of Hudspeth County since 1907. The population was 9,814 at the 2010 census. The first optical equipment used in Azle was glass plate readers that could only read text off of paper. This technology was replaced by scanning readers in the early 1900s which allowed for images to be read without having to flip through pages. In 1924, azle started selling its own radios which helped promote radio broadcasting throughout the area. In 1957, azle became home to the first video game console when it opened up its new store called "Pit" which sold video games such as Pac-Man, Donkey Kong and Space Invaders for $5 each. The popularity of these games helped drive sales for azle's other retail businesses such as clothing stores, hardware stores, convenience stores and sporting goods stores. In 1969, azle became home to one of the first computer systems with a mainframe called "PCM". This system allowed users to access information from local newspapers, magazines and government agencies without ever leaving their homes or taking time away from their work schedule. PCM also served as the base for many later digital computers and servers across Hudspeth County until 1984 when AT&T moved its headquarters from Irving to downtown Azle following World War II bombings onsite that destroyed much of downtown Irving.

Azle is a small town in Marshall County, Texas, United States. The population was 1,851 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Dallas–Fort Worth metropolitan area. Azle is located on the banks of the Trinity River. The first settler in what would become Azle was John Atherton in 1871. A post office was established here in 1873 and remained in operation until 1907. In 1889, a mill was built on the river by Wm Buford and his son John Buford II to produce flour for local markets. In 1896, a sawmill also was built here and continued operations until 1957; it produced both logs and lumber until it closed down due to lack of demand from locals and tourists alike. A brief period of growth occurred during World War I when American soldiers stationed here formed military camps that grew into villages known as "Dakota" (later renamed "Azle") around 1918-19). These were all dissolved soon afterwards as troops returned home or left for other postings overseas. During World War II, there were large scale layoffs at local mills due to an increased demand for munitions throughout America (the war resulted in some high death tolls among US service members). As a result, many businesses closed their doors including one mentioned earlier which had been operting since 1896 - this particular business went out of business because its customers could not find anything else to buy that would meet their needs with regards to flour and other products they bought from themregularly.. A new mill moved into operation near downtown Azle in 1982 called Mills Corporation who manufactured aluminum cans and other items before ceasing operations in 1992 after 30 years.. Azle is a town in Polk County, Texas, United States. The population was 9,362 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Amarillo-Texarkana Metropolitan Statistical Area. The town was founded in 1881 by John A. Azle and his wife Esther (née McMurtry). The name azle comes from the Creek word "a-zel," meaning "place where water flows." Prior to its foundation, Azle was known as Bearden's Bluff. A site for a post office was chosen in 1883, but no building was erected until 1886 when the first Territorial Post Office Building was completed. That building remains standing today as part of the Azle Historic District. In 1890, Azle had two school districts: one for white children and one for black children; these were later merged into one district. In 1912, Harry Laughlin opened his soda fountain in downtown Azle and quickly became an institution with customers coming from all over Polk County to buy refreshments on hot summer days. His business became so successful that he built a second store on Broadway north of Town Hall in 1916 which continued to be operational until it burned down on October 15th, 1978. Harry Laughlin also started up the first ice cream parlour in Amarillo and delivered food to homes through wagons during cold winter months; this service continued until 1954 when delivery services were transferred to local restaurants instead. He died May 3rd, 1951 at age 92 years old and is buried at Mountain View Cemetery near Amarillo.. In 1924 Waddell Hinton bought out Harry Laughlin's share of the business and continue operations as Waddell's Ice Cream Parlor until it closed its doors in 1984.. On February 23rd 1920 Fenton Easley opened up his grocery store at corner of Elm Street & 2nd Avenue North called 'Fenton's'. This store lasted till 1955 when it burned down due to fire set by kids playing inside!
