As of 1990 Athens had a median household income that was $38,583 compared to $24,375 for Williamson County as a whole. In 2003 Athens began seeing some cuts in funding due to budget reductions throughout Texas which caused its median house value to decrease by 5%. However since then it has trended upwards with an increase in job opportunities and housing prices both inside and outside Athens itself

These early shotguns didn't have any sights other than what we call today's “gun sights”- iron circles mounted on both sides of the barrel which moved back and forth along its bore axis while being aimed at something outside of it (usually an animal). Gun sights began appearing on rifles in 1836 with improvements made over time including mounts for dogs so they wouldn't mistakenly hit humans if there was someone firing through the scope at them from behind (the dog had been trained to look downrange only). With advancements in technology comes advances in handgun design too- as seen with later designs like Heckler & Koch's P9XR Pistol Sight which became popularized for handguns during World War II. The earlier gunsights featured just rings/arches set up next to each other within about 100 yards while handguns started featuring moving iron posts inside(later versions included knobs) within 500 yards range making it possible for handgunners across different armies to fire successfully off targets at ranges up to 2000 meters without having any problem whatsoever! In addition, various types and sizes of optics have been developed over time making it increasingly difficult for shooters not familiar with reticle patterns and dot positions etc.,to maintain accuratefire even when shooting indoors/in dark conditions etc.( Figure 4 ).

They found one when General Antonio López de Santa Anna sent land to Austin from Mexico for the Texans to settle. The town grew quickly and by 1840, it had a population of 2,000 people. Over time, Athens became known as the "city on the Brazos" due to its location at the confluence of the Brazos and Trinity Rivers. In 1845, Athens was named capital of Texas because it was selected as the state's temporary seat while Austin was being built. The city continued to grow and by 1872 there were more than 10,000 people living in Athens. In that year, Athens also became an all-white city with no African Americans living in it. The city reached its peak during World War II when it served as a major base for American military efforts in Europe. In 1945, however, Athens lost its status as capital after Texas seceded from the United States and formed its own nation called Oklahoma. It wasn't until 1983 that Athens regained its original name as an all-white city again.

The McNaught brothers also founded a cotton mill in Athens and a grocery store. In 1907, the McNaught brothers sold their business to John Acheson and his sons. John Acheson served as mayor of Athens from 1911 to 1917 and as governor of Texas from 1923 to 1927. In 1932, the town of Athens became an independent municipality under the rule of Mayor James Hoggard. The city lost its independence when it merged with Arlington County in 1965.
