Arlington, Texas is home to the world’s largest gun show, the Arlington Gun Show. Held every other year in late May or early June, this three-day event features more than 2,000 exhibitors from all over the United States and Canada. The Gun Show also includes several hundred static displays of handguns, shotguns and rifles. This ordinance was repealed about two years later when the war ended but it did serve as a model for future city ordinances restricting handgun sales which still exist today. It wasn’t until 1949 (the middle years of the Eisenhower presidency) that President Eisenhower signed executive orders allowing handgun purchases by civilians without a permit from any state government entities if they were necessary “for self-defense in one’s own house or upon private grounds used by one family only” This order allowed individuals such as farmers or hunters who had concerns about being target practice targets instead of legitimate civilians exercising their Second Amendment rights! Shortly after President Eisenhower issued this order Congress passed House Bill 498 which banned open carry of handguns within 100 feet of schools and churches! This law still applies today with some minor changes – specifically 100 feet becomes 75 feet if you are carrying your weapon unloaded inside your car parked outside an educational institution! President Nixon vetoed House Bill 498 but it became law anyway due to presidential vetoes being overruled by both Houses of Parliament! As you can see from this history there have been many iterations throughout gun control laws across different administrations over the years with varying degrees of success!

Arlington, Texas is a city in the U.S. state of Texas and the seat of Arlington County. The population was 1,653 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Dallas-Fort Worth metropolitan area and is located on an east-west border with Collin County to its north, Tarrant County to its west and Williamson County to its south. The first people in Arlington settled there in 1836 by Colonel Robert E. Lee, who had moved from Richmond, Virginia two years earlier for military duty in the Mexican–American War. The town grew rapidly during the 1840s due to cattle drives that took travelers through its region; by 1850 Arlington had a school, Methodist church, hotel and cotton gin. In 1856 Arlington became an independent city under a charter granted by Governor James M(hnston Jones). In 1912 Arlington annexed parts of neighboring collin county including Weatherford and Grapevine; this annexation created what is now known as the "City of Grapevine" boundary. In 1916 Arlington annexing part of Plano became known as "Arlington Park". The City Council decided in 1978 not to annex any more territory within Plano so that it could maintain a separate government for both cities; however, some residents argued that annexation would give them more power over their neighborhoods within City Hall than they currently have. That same year planners announced plans for a large new development adjacent to downtown called Midtown Dallas which would contain high-rise apartments, office towers, shopping malls and other retail venues.; opponents of Midtown Dallas lobbied vehemently against it until they were successful in getting Planning Commission approval for a shimmering glass pyramid measuring 170 feet (52 meters) tall which will stand atop one of Dallas' main thoroughfares - Elm Street - between Madison Avenue South and Interstate 12th Street (the Farmers Road.) This environmentally destructive project has been criticized by many observers as one example of how developers have taken over local governments throughout North America without regard for public opinion or environmental safeguards

Arlington, Texas is the seat of Arlington County and a municipality located in the Dallas-Fort Worth metropolitan area. The population of Arlington grew rapidly from its modest pre-City population of about 25,000 in 1950 to more than 100,000 by 1970. The town of Arlington began as a cattle ranching community near what is now downtown Dallas. On November 14, 1836 General Sam Houston occupied present day Arlington while seeking refuge from Mexican forces under Santa Anna. At first he named it San Jacinto but later changed it to Arlington because his men were met with resistance from local Native Americans who called it Quahog meaning "bad place." Eventually all Anglo Texans - except for those living within Fort Worth - adopted English surnames starting with Houston (and others such as Pickens and Ewing). The first buildings in what is now downtownDallas were erected during the Republic years (1845-1849) when many Austinians fled for Mexico after Texas seceded from Mexico. A few months later important people including Judge James White returned from Washington D.C., where he had been elected as one of the membersof Congress nominated by President George Washington to succeed James Kenedy who had died suddenly while campaigning in Missouri that fall; he arrived in Austin on October 12th and immediately went into session to take charge until Kenedy's replacement could be chosen In 1851 David Sibley founded Sibley & Co., bankers which built some very early commercial buildings on Elm Street between Main and Market Streets; they remain extant today(& are currently used as office space). These developments led eventually to increased settlement westward along Rice Roads through groups like The Lone Star Company(later called Westbury Mining & Manufacturing Company), Pioneer Mines Incorporated(later renamed Republic Coal Corporation), Brown Bros./Noah Metalworking Company(later renamed Moore Matthey Metallurgical Company), American Exploration & Development Company(later renamed Anaconda Copper MiningCompany), etc.; these companies developed various mines that produced both coal and other minerals such as aluminum and nickel ..... With increasing production came associated problems like widespread pollution caused by surface mining operations especially overlying creek banks which often coincided with agricultural land use; water issues resulting from runoff caused major flooding events throughout much of EastTexas during dry seasons; social issues like race tension due largely to differences in wealth among different groups involved in underground workings etc.; plus fire risk posed by large open pits left unmonitored during wet season periods Some residents decided that incorporation would provide better government services nearer their homes while others lobbied unsuccessfully for annexation into larger counties.. After several yearsadecided against incorporation citing lack of support amongst other representatives prior to becoming Mayor Robert J. Cline Sr.'s policy recommendations resulted in City Council adopting an ordinance adopting a charter providing most features typical today including Police Department, Fire Department and Zoning Appeals Board ....
